i will post letter on here that i sent. i sent it to all the directors listed on the site that 'dustykitten' mentioned above. just 'their numbers as listed on that site'@paypal.com

Thats all i did! letter to follow.
It was longer than i intended but did the trick!
Had got it printed out to post too but didn't even have time to send it.

Soooo pleased

now to sort ebay as they joined in with paypal!

I would advise you to read this message carefully and fully

Further to my recent conversation with your customer service centre, I would like to raise some concerns over your recent actions.

I am a genuine PayPal customer and have never had any reason to complain about your service, nor have you had any reason to call into question my integrity.

My understanding is you have limited and then gone on to close my account due to what your office has called 'unusual or suspicious activity'.

I am most unhappy about this course of action as this has forced me to cancel some current ebay listings. In addition to this you are holding over £400 of my money, for reasons that are unclear to me, causing me and my 3 children, 2 of whom are under 5 to go without certain essential items.

I understand that certain transactions can be charged back for up to 180 days - these are only when paid via credit card. If any of my payments were sent by any other method than by credit card then they can only be charged back for 45 days. So therefore i cannot see how you can legally hold this money for 180 days. What reasons would you have other than to earn interest from my money?

I do not expect any of my buyers to chargeback at all anyway, as they have left me positive feedback, and in the case of the xbox 360 i sold The buyer sent me a personal message saying how pleased he was with the condition of the item.
This makes up over £250 of the money that you are holding back from me.

I had sold a few more items on Ebay than usual because i needed the money so badly. The items were items from within my own household, and it was a hard decision to sell some of them, but i wanted to sort myself out. That money was for bills and you are preventing me from paying them by holding it.

I am actually out of pocket, as have sent the items and paid for the postage, which alone comes to arond £45 without packaging costs.

I have supplied all information you originally requested, and yet within a few days you had decided you 'wanted to part company' and not have my business any longer.

I would ask you to review my account and reopen my account for my use at your earliest convenience. Should you find this course of action unavailable to you, I would ask that you put into writing your full reasons for freezing my account.

thank you all for your help.

I sent a letter threatening court action if they did not comply with my request of giving me full details in writing within 14 days, as to why they were holding my money and exactly on what grounds i was limited.

Copied it and emailed it to all the directors of paypal

They have not closed my acc either!

bit dubious about using it in future though i have to say.

Bit miffed that i got no explanation, and just an email to say 'their investigations were complete, and my acc was reinstated'

Oh well!

i have now withdrawn my much needed funds.
