No i just have one acc and noone else in the house has one...

same with paypal. one acc, had for over a year.maybe nearer to two.

i've written letters now, will post outcome .. not that i'm very hopeful!

We had 2 paypal accounts at work (2 branches 1 account each).

Paypal did this to the other branches account, we did everything they asked for and still had to wait the 180 days. They said it was due to money laundering....

My boss was livid.

Just tried to log into paypal as still have some ebay items to post, and as ebay is restricted i can't get addresses......so tried to log in, and....
now i can't even do that!

acc is LOCKED!

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? is this normal for restricted accs to get locked so you cannot even log in????

haven't paid my phone bill as money for it is stuck in paypal! so came to arrangement with BT who were very understanding, and am on incoming calls only until i can pay (2 weeks time)

Therefore i have to wait til my youngest son wakes up before i can go and ring them at my mothers house (thankfully only round the corner)

I can't send people their items if i can't get the addresses...then they will begin non recieved disputes whill make my case look bad.....

Like i said before...if something can happen it'll happen to me.
I sometimes wonder why i even bother.

Until all this i was feeling more positive, i was taking steps to get things paid, going without but we'd get through it, but NOW. i just don't know what to do.

This is horrible for you, and while you're restricted there isnt't a lot you can do for your customers. Paypal and ebay have decided to take it upon themselves to sort that ouot, as they've rendered you unable to. Let them worry about it.

The good news:

- Recent purchases will most likely be rendered null, and most likely refunded (at least the buyers won't be hassling you to sort it out)
- No-one will be able to ruin your account with negs, because they can't do that while you're suspended.

This doesn't help your money situation but do try not to worry about your buyers - it's out of your hands.

I'm now getting slightly confused.

Your paypal account was suspended on the 13th April and at that time you were able to supply all tracking details for all your sold items. I don't quite understand therefore why you now have items to send that were paid for by paypal? As your account has been suspended you can't have been receiivng new paypal payments, and if you need to log into paypal to get your addresses then they can't be cheque payments as you'd have those on your ebay end of auction notices. if they were paid for by paypal before you were suspended then you are very late in posting, but the god news is that the addresses will be easily availble from the paypal notifications you would have received. Likewise, if they were not paypal paid then addresses will be available from the ebay end of auction notices so don't panic about that.

Anyway, as ebay and paypal have both now suspended you it suggests they have found something serious. This is not just admin now, this looks like they doubt something . if it isn't somehting you've done can you check your credit file, make sure no one else had a problem at your address that might reflect on you? It does happen and it is worth ruling out being mistaken for someone else at the same address.

Sassi, when items sold and were paid for via PayPal, you would have gotten e-mails to confirm sales and payments; on those e-mails will be the buyer's address. So check your e-mail 'Inbox' and it should sort you out.:)

Thanks for your replies.
I provided 6 tracking numbers to paypal which they requested (when my acc was limited they chose 6 of the transactions to ask for tracking numbers for, this was one of three processes they asked me to perform..the others being confirm bank details and fax proof of ID and address)

I had not provided tracking numbers for all transactions.

At the time of my Paypal acc being limited i still had active Ebay auctions.
I cancelled these auctions, as they were paypal only auctions, and was no point continuing as wouldn't get money for 6 months.

Three of the people i sold to on Ebay had not paid for the items at the time of the limitation. They then paid a couple of days ago, and Paypal did indeed accept their payments (limited accs can recieve and refund but not withdraw)

Just wanted to explain that bit.

I called Paypal today and asked why it was locked, and she looked into it (put me on hold for an eternity-and its 0870 number on my poor parents bill!:eek: )
My acc is no longer locked. she didn't know why it had been but it apparantly shouldn't have been so at least that bit is cleared up
its obviously still lmited though, and i cannot have my money still for 180 days.

Have emailed requesting full explanation as to why my acc will be closed and why this all happened.

I did ask the nice lady on the phone for an explanation, but she cryptically said 'maybe you have lots of paypal accounts'
'no' i said 'just this one'
'Ahh, well maybe others at your address have accounts with open issues, the accounts do not have to be in your name to be linked to your acc'

Then she went off on a tangent about my selling mobile phones (2-mine and my partners) and that these are 'suspicious items if more than one is for sale'

i thought i was getting somewhere til she said 'of couse, i'm just guessing by looking at your transactions, and told me to email appeals@paypal for a proper explanation.

i moved to my current address just 2 months ago. Could someone else not have changed their address and still be registered here do you think, i do get a lot of what look like debt collection letters for them, and they obviously are in no hurry to change their addresses

Yes - there's a possibility your address has a history of dodgy ebayers.

It's worth getting your credit record and checking that the previous occupant has not been put on it.

thank you all for your help.

I sent a letter threatening court action if they did not comply with my request of giving me full details in writing within 14 days, as to why they were holding my money and exactly on what grounds i was limited.

Copied it and emailed it to all the directors of paypal

They have not closed my acc either!

bit dubious about using it in future though i have to say.

Bit miffed that i got no explanation, and just an email to say 'their investigations were complete, and my acc was reinstated'

Oh well!

i have now withdrawn my much needed funds.
