  • After the first 2 texts on application on friday DH checked joint bank account today and nationwide have taken their full £354 inclusive of the £99 booking fee. No texts received today, not entirely sure to expect one saying payment collected or not..

They don't send a text to confirm you've paid them. Typically that happens before they start work and then the text's start.

Not so much a gripe with Nationwide as getting the mortgage was the easy bit this time around but I managed to speak to my conveyancer yesterday and she told me there were some questions the vendor has asked so I need to respond. 24 hours later and she still hasn't emailed them through!! I need my crystal ball obviously!
  • As previously stated we received the following on friday 16th november:

We are pleased to advise you that the product(s) have been reserved for your mortgage application. We will be in touch again shortly.

We are pleased to advise that your mortgage application has been received. We will be in touch again as your application progresses.

About 30 minutes ago we received:

The Nationwide valuation has been re-scheduled to be carried out on . You do not need to be present if your valuation is an External Inspection only.

This is the third text message we've received since our MA put our application through on Friday.

With the message saying re-scheduled its almost as though its been cancelled and rebooked or something.. Also confused about the 'needing to be present part'. It also seems like their should be a date inserted on there too?

I am quite please something seems to be happening though..

That would be the wording for a remortgage, where you are already the property owner and would therefore be giving access to the surveyor.

On a purchase, the surveyor will contact the selling agent for access, so it's a little redundant.
