An update on my progress. Offer has been received. So that took 13 days from application to the offer being issued and then a few days for it to arrive in the post.

I hope mine will be as quick as yours! i had the text that said ' we are pleased to tell you we have received a satisfactory evaluation, we will keep you informed as your application proceeds' on Thursday/Friday so hoping for the mortgage offer next week! this is for the house im buying.

Problem for me is that the valuation still hasn't been done on my house! my purchasers are FTB's to i had a polite word with the EA's yesterday saying they need to hurry up and that im not proceeding any further on my application until they catch up.

we need to complete on 15/12 at the latest as my sellers are emigrating! oh dear..........where's the chocolate?:eek::eek:

Just an update on my progress, nationwide finally received the correct valuation on Monday and my mortgage has been in the final stage of the process ever since, nationwide did ask for a certain form but my financial kindly informed them that this had been sent along with all documentation when the application was submitted, but she sent them another copy anyway. Hopefully gonna hear something tomorrow or Monday, how long can't it actually take to check a few bits of paper.

The wait is horrible isn't it! :o Hope it goes smoothly for you

They were a little slow to do the small things when we took ours out 3 1/2 years ago but I suppose these little things only take a small amount of time and its the actual workloads carried by the staff that causes delays. They will have many more applications to go through so I suppose all the little jobs for different customers add up.

They have been great with us over the years and to be fair, apart from the contact when our fixed term ended they just send us a statement every so often.

We are struggling to get them to accept payment for our valuation.... they are slow to get money from us,makes a change! Application sent three weeks ago,Last three working days our MA has been ringing to pay. They are too busy by all accounts. Hopefully the valuation will be at least booked by end of next week. Even though we are in the middle of only a straight forward chain of 3 I don't think we will move till end of Jan realistically.

Hi, I have convinced my solicitor I am not bankrupt :T , seems she works on Sundays!!
Apparently my mortgage funds have been requested, what the heck is that exactly? Isn't this when the random audit might happen? Nothing has changed in my application , but that doesn't stop me worrying. Does the monies get put in a holding account?
Not anticipating completion until Friday. Nerve levels are jangling!!!!!

I've got a chain of 3 too. My buyer is in rented and my seller is emigrating. I can't even think i won't be moved by Christmas.

I'm surrounded by boxes. Fingers crossed.

Are your chain all ready to move too?

Aww that's good news! I had a text from nationwide about funds being requested. Apparently it's like they reserve them for you.

Lets hope it all moves smoothly now. You seem to have had enough drama. :-))
  • Our MA put our application in to Nationwide on Friday, we received the following texts to both our mobiles:

We are pleased to advise you that the product(s) have been reserved for your mortgage application. We will be in touch again shortly.

    Followed by-

We are pleased to advise that your mortgage application has been received. We will be in touch again as your application progresses.

    ...

The buyer of our house is coming out of rented and her valuation has been done already (Tuesday)... The house we're buying, the owner has no chain and is moving straight into another property.

We haven't got a clue on timescales, we're assuming that once we get an offer from Nationwide our solicitors will take a good few weeks to sort things!?

I will update as an when we get subsequent texts.

We do have the same legal firm as our buyer and we have the same estate agent as the seller of our new place.. Some seem to think it should make it quicker others say it may not..

Haven't a clue when to start packing!!

Tell me about the packing! Seems like your in a good place though!

The next text you'll get will say that valuation is booked. Then another saying that it was satisfactory (hopefully)

That's as far as I've got. Hopefully by end of week ill have the one saying mortgage offer sent! Then it's just hounding the solicitors I reckon! Good luck!

Let us know how it goes :-)
