For me, two years ago it was about two weeks.
  • We applied in September and had the following time scales,
    25th September Application Submitted
    4th October Valuation & Survey
    5th October Mortgage Offer Sent

Been happy with it so far, the text and email updates are handy too.

  • 20 working days, from documents sent to offer text. In fact the paper offer arrived to me and my solicitor today.

The did want 3 payslips, 6 months bank statements and p60 though, so more info than some of the people on here. I assumed its because I am currently renting and purchasing alone.

My Mortgage advisor says he submitted a full paper application 2 weeks ago and we have heard nothing since, I have no credit checks carried out on my experian report or any monies taken for fees from my account, surely i should have heard something by now, my broker I am starting to think did not even send it until last week as I had to chase him for the KFI which was only done on the 23rd a full week after I spoke to him and the application completed. Any of you knowledgeable people think I should have heard by now if he did send it to weeks ago like he said ??

Paper applications do seem to take longer. Mine was submitted on the 20th August and product and valuation fee wasn't taken until the 5th September. Each time my broker chased it up, a little hurdle seemed to be overcome.

I did an application in branch, back in February, they didn't want any documentation and verified everything electronically (not using their own systems, I wasn't a Nationwide customer at the time), but it was about six weeks from then before an offer was received. Fees were all paid there and then by credit card.

I believe back in the summer they had a backlog, Thanks

backlog is nothing compared to what it was!
it is now roughly taking 20 days from app to offer
