  • Great to hear that it doesn't take too long now. We had our valuation done last week 25th and I haven't heard anything since. Is this normal?

My application was made through a MA electronically on the 19th, valuation done on the 25th, P60, six months banks statement, 3 months wage slips all given to mortgage adviser. I followed up with MA today, he confirmed that P60 was satisfied, Wage slips satisfying but decline on bank statement, he thinks he might has sent only half of bank statement, I am not sure what to hope for.
  • I currently have a three year fixed rate with Halifax, the tie in period ends in February 2013 (not sure of exact date) The initial loan amount was 83k. I recon the current balance would be something like 78k as i have been paying for 3 years.

However today we have agreed to part ex the current house against a new build. Its due to complete mid January. This would involve upping the mortgage to approx 144k with about 40% deposit. Obviously this would be during a period when i woluld be iable for a penalty.

I cannot get an appointment with my halifax adviser until friday however my question is this.

Would halifax be likely to release me from my current deal approximately a month early without any penalty if we were to start a new mortgage with them for a higher amount? This would mean they have retain more lucrative business in the long run.

The have a 5yr fixed on their website at 3.69% with no fees with 40% min deposit, this seems ideal for me.

Insanojackson - I'm not sure if you noticed but this is a thread for nationwide applications!! You might want to start a new thread so you get a response to your queries. I'm porting my deal so I don't pay an early repayment charge. Halifax may consider the same with you but you'll need to ask them.

Would they accept your credit card statements? That would show the rent payments at least?

The only issue is I have paid it through 2 different cards and also through my wife's card, and she is not on the application, I have sent my rent account statement to the MA fingers crossed this should be OK.
