Congrats to everyone who's had their offer through. :)

Sorry guys but I'm massively stressing :( OK, credit checked on first application, mortgage broker said there'd be no problems as she'd run everything by Nationwide and they'd given the DIP. Valuation came back as satisfactory, so we were hoping for just a straight formal offer.
Today however we get a text saying Nationwide are assessing our income.
What does this mean? They knew the income from the application so why are they assessing it now?
OH started a new job a month ago, would this affect it even though they knew he'd only been there 2 weeks when the application went in? Previous employer he was with for 11 years so he's not exactly unstable career wise if they check.
Humph. Just when I hoped things would go smoothly :/
  • Did you submit your latest salary slip and P60 already? if not they require those when you apply as I did give those . BTW I applied via NW. no broker

Yep we gave the broker all those things. OH's latest job pays more but he won't have a new wage slip until the beginning of next month.
  • well then it should be fine. But I HAD some job offers where I want to move and I TOLD that to NW and they advise me not to change jobs as it might adversely impact my application. So I am waiting until I get the keys and then I am off .........

Thanks. I hope it'll be fine, I mean they knew all about the new job etc so I don't see why they'd change their minds now, but I read so many horror stories on here I get paranoid!

Then may well contact the employer for confirmation of salary etc. As obviously no evidence to support application. Previous employment is irrelevant.

Good luck to all you still hunting your offer.

I write this message from in my new house ;). So it can be done...eventually!

    Many congratulations!
  • I am very jealous of your timelines for mortgages under 5 weeks. I started my mortgage process the beginning of October and am on week 8 now! For the past couple weeks my financial advisor has been telling me the offer will be sent out by the end of the week. I feel like there is nowhere else to go to chase it up. My divorce is going to come through before the bl**dy mortgage offer! grrrr
