still waiting.. today was working day 12.. I'm slightly on edge.. don't know why lol

It is nerve-wracking but you will get there in the end! Just take a deep breath and try to relax (easier said than done, I know!).
  • After waiting patiently I rang the MA this morning who tells me he was off thurs fri last week and sure he has an email about something for us!?

Well nationwide requested an employee reference as I'm on maternity leave,. This was requested 21st November and my payroll team sent a message bk to say I would need to authorise the request.. They didn't think to contact me to tell me and only emailed MA last few days :-/!!
So a fax was sent earlier nd hopefully they'll get it in 48 hrs tops! Urghhhh

  • I work with new builds and Nationwide have been notorious for taking quite a while however my experience with them has been nothing short of fantastic. Mortgage promise done on the 18th Nov, full application on the 23rd Nov, Valuation on the 29th and Mortgage offered this morning! :j
  • Interesting to read this thread. They had our application (paper through FA) about two weeks ago. The solicitor NW appointed keeps asking for more things (repeat copies of payslips, certificates to prove FENSA registered window installation etc. etc.) - amongst all this we got a text from NW saying we have a formal mortgage offer and they look forward to completing with us. Is it me or are the left and right hand not communicating?

Aw congrats Angie, I'm sooo pleased for you - such great news. Hope you are getting settled :j

Unfortunately, not such great news for me. I've been in tears and feel so stressed with it all - praying i don't go into labour ha!

So we were all set for exchange today, or so we thought. Our buyer have transferred all funds and fees etc. Likewise we have done the same. spoke to solicitors this morning to say yep, should exchange today.

Hubby gets a call at 4.20pm from our solicitor saying they need written confirmation from nationwide that they are happy that our solicitor firm (although different solicitors) is the same for us and our buyer.

They should have done this weeks ago. Apparently nationwide have verbally confirmed it's all ok, but can't exchange until they have it in writing.

Apparently, according to the estate agent, our vendors are getting pee'd off and will pull out if it doesn't happen next week. I'm not sure how much more I can take.

So i'm not very happy at all.

In fact, we've been very upset and disappointed with how bad our solicitors have been. They wont really deal with me, then they asked for double the amount of funds because they "forgot about our sale"

They said we failed money laundering:eek: - i couldn't understand why and when i spoke to her she was like "oh yeah, sorry i didn't see the date on it"

    Absolutely appalling and now this......

Anyway, I'm praying it will all get done. Not much we can do....

Silly thing is, our buyer has received a text from Nationwide to say all set for completion next friday 14th!!

    Thanks!!

I'm really sorry to hear about the problems with yours though, especially whilst you are pregnant. :( I'm sure it will all get sorted. You've still got time to exchange ready for completion next Friday.

Easier said than done, but try not to stress too much. I know it is so hard when you have mentally already moved and just want the whole thing done and dusted.

Keep us posted on how it's going and I've got my fingers crossed that Nationwide can fax the letter over on Monday for you.
