It's funny but I was watching location location location yesterday.
They make it look as if the hardest part is having an offer accepted

They lie! The mortgage application stuff, chasing solicitors is much harder :-/
My own fault as I really really really want to be in before Christmas
And moving Christmas week is a no go.
I need at least 10 days or dinner for Christmas will be beans on toast :-))

Found out that the valuation survey was done today....four weeks on from application.I only know its been done because estate agent rang to let me know.she spoke with the guy and he said there were no problems, and he'd get on with paperwork.wonder when ill hear it straight from nationwide?!

That's good news. I had my valuation and then an offer 10 days later
Usual is a week though. I had to resend a form to them

When they had everything the offer was out within 4 days.

    Hope you hear soon x

I got my offer through last week but surprise surprise Nationwide have cocked up again. Our builders are gifting us 5% deposit but instead of quoting this in the offer nationwide have reduced the purchase price by 5%. This hasn't gone down well with the solicitor as she can't proceed until all the paperwork matches, still in the process of trying to get nationwide to change the offer, the mortgage amount is the same so can't understand the problem really.
  • We want though a broker to Nationwide, nothing was mentioned re approved solicitors - we went with a company local to the new property as it happened to be recommended and one of the cheaper ones :)

    Thank you :)

Hopefully getting our application in tomorrow, how long should it take for their offer (presuming it's successful)? Going by this thread - 6 - 8 weeks?

Ours took about 3-4 weeks. It was longer as we had problems
submitting online due to a glitch and they needed
accountant certificate as my hubby is self employed.

I doubt it would take 6-8 weeks for an offer. Quicker
    I would think :-)

It's so frustrating isn't it. I've been calling them myself
for updates. All I needed was application reference
number. This saved me waiting for updates from mortgage
    advisors.

Hope it's sorted soon. When are you thinking of moving?

Have u heard nothing at all since? Request for further info?..etc..

They requested more information around 2 weeks ago, which was sent in immediately. Spent 3 days waiting for them to scan it onto their system, then got told it was a 3 day turnaround time on docs being assessed. Well, 8 days later, they still haven't looked at it. It's making me very anxious now!

Luckily our house isn't built yet, well it's half built so not gonna be completing until march so that's plenty of time away but the builders want us to go and pick all the extras we want and to pay for them but my solicitor has said I have to hold off until the paperwork is sorted. hopefully you will get exchanged and moved when you want.

Its a standard and it happened to me as well (word re-schedule) . my valuation was done yesterday and it was satisfactory. I wasn't present for valuation.
application submit 15th , valuation done 19th. lets see

Just to an update . Today they have issued formal Mortgage offer. :T
so overall can't blame everything was done within two weeks.

So I guess that is it. Does anybody know what will happened now ? I mean NW will inform my solicitors and then ?????????

    thanks
