Stunning weather here in the North West today. As per usual I was up nice and early and decided to take Sid out to the park before it got too hot. I am so glad I did as she has just lay in the shade for the rest of the day. I went up to the town centre sports centre for my Saturday morning zumba class. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. After walking home again I decided to get a couple of jobs done outside before the heat got to be too much. I strimmed the grass on the land at the side of my house with the petrol strimmer and I also started to re grout some of the cobbles round the edge of my pond in the garden. I could only do this until I had run out of mortar. I shall have to buy some more maybe on Monday when I next use the car. I have been very productive this afternoon. As it was too hot for me to sit outside I did a bit of baking !!! I made 2 cheese and onion plate pies and a tray full of felafels. I put them all in the oven and also cooked 6 small apple pies which were in the freezer. At least I have got some tasty food for the next week or two. Later this afternoon a friend called round and we sat under the umbrella in the garden.
The plan for tonight is to have a nice read in the garden and just lounge about as i have got another action packed day tomorrow !! I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Its a stunning day here in the North West again. The wide awake club have already taken meter readings and paid British Gas and been to the park. I think its best to take Sidney out nice and early when the weather is likely to be very hot late on. Have a great day everyone x

The rest of my day has been spent very pleasantly. I went to Holmfirth with my friend for a lovely afternoon just ambling about in the sunshine, stopping off for a cold drinks and putting the world to rights. The highlight of my day has been my youngest son letting me know that his new baby daughter has arrived !! I will be going to see her as soon as I can.
Anyway I am just going to potter round my garden for a bit longer then get my feet up for a read. I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

tootallulah - Thanks so much for leaving a message. Its good to know you are reading my ramblings !! x
LeaLea89 - Hi. Well I have tried to be Grandma but my grandson just calls me by my christian name !!! So I expect that our beautiful baby girl will probably end up copying him !! Thank you for posting x
Today has been very different for me than the usual Monday. I was up really early and went to the gym before 7am. I did an hour on the treadmill but i think i needed to as i had rather overindulged food wise this weekend. On the way back from the gym I called off at Wickes and bought yet more mortar. My plumber contacted me about the job he had done for me at one of my rental properties (£190). He had to fit a new water tank in the loft. Anyway I paid the bill with internet banking but it leaves me a bit short for the month as I have put £500 in the building society and paid for the new UPVC window. Luckily I have got a mountain of £2 coins I have saved for a rainy day. Well I think I will be having to use them this month.
I took Sid to the park then when I got home i did some more pointing round the pond. I think I have finished for now but i might just spot something else that needs doing. Decided to make a huge pan of corned beef hash as my potatoes were just about to start to sprout and I didn't want to waste them. Anyway I now have 5 big portions of hash which I can have with vegetables.
I had to go to work this afternoon for a few hours which was annoying but hey ho, I have got the rest of the week off and I don't have to budge till next Tuesday. On the way home from work I had to call and have a little peep at the baby who is now home. She is just perfect. I am beyond pleased as we have not had a girl born in the family for years!!
Anyway time for a Google and a bit of a read. I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day. :)

LeaLea89 - Today I decided to raid the £2 mountain and paid £100 into my current account. I am so glad I have saved it for a rainy day. Well its been a rainy day for me money wise. Anyway I feel as though I have made the right decision especially as I think about what good use I have put my wages to - new window and £500 savings as well as the plumbers bill. I think we both deserve a pat on the back !! x

Today has been scorching. I got up early and took Sid to the park. As the weather has been so hot recently, I have brought home loads of recycling. People are such scruffy sods just dropping bottles and cans. Rant over. I walked to the town this morning and called in at Sainsburys and bought some "tiny baby" sleep suits for our new baby. Then I went to the gym and managed 60 minutes on the treadmill. Had a little spend in Home Bargains - Bought a new toothbrush and a new pumice for my feet (spent £1.68).
At lunch time I decided to go to the cinema. i went to see "Now you see me" which was really good, and it got me out of the sun during the hotest part of the day. A friend text me whilst I was at the cinema asking me to call on her if I was free for a coffee - so I did, and we had a nice natter. When I got home i started reading a new book -Hooked by Clare Gee - Confessions of a London call girl. Lets just say its started off very interesting !!!
Tonight i have been sat out in the garden with a work colleague who is also a good friend. We have drunk about 10 glasses of cordial !!! Anyway I have enjoyed today and I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Today has flown by. Its actually been a bit cooler which in a way has helped. Took Sid to the park quite early and managed to collect yet more recycling. Decided to do a few jobs at home before going to town. I resealed my 3 front windows inside with sealant as the old stuff had perished. Also did a bit of ironing. I also went to my local Asian supermarket and did a bit of stocking up. They have some great bargains. For example - 30 eggs £1.99. 12 cans of chick peas £2.35. The things I bought will probably be shared out with my sons who cook !!
After my chores I walked to the town centre gym and did 30 minutes on the treadmill then went to the lunchtime zumba class which was great fun. Bought a few more packets of risotto and some sauce mixes from Home Bargains. I also decided to pay another £100 worth of £2 coins into the bank as I want to make sure I have enough in until pay day.
When I got home I got the jet wash out again and did some more power washing. I thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of the slightly cooler weather.
I have been thinking today about what my plans are with next months salary, apart from my usual bills. I have decided to contact an acquaintance who is a plasterer and get his opinion on the walls of the now newly stripped playroom. If he considers the walls need skimming before I start slapping emulsion on, then that is my plan for next month. He will be contacting me soon to make arrangements to come round and take a look. Other than the plastering, I hope to be able to save some money as well. Watch this space
Anyway I plan on just pottering about a bit tonight and having a bit of a read later. I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

God its so hot here today - but I shouldn't complain ! Its been pretty much the usual sort of day for me today. Up early and to the park then I went to the gym. Did 50 minutes on the treadmill then dance aerobics class which was great fun. Bought some milk and some frozen peppers from the town centre before I came home. This afternoon has been spent in the garden - unfortunately not relaxing but pointing more of the cobbles round the pond and sorting my privets out. I have started to cut them back as they have become so thick and I only want them to be about half the width they are. Lets just say its a big job so I will be carrying on with it tomorrow. After an early tea I decided to go and see the baby. She is so beautiful
Anyway the plan for tonight is to chill out doing a bit of googling, pottering in the garden and having a read. I am also doing some research into making an indoor tortoise enclosure for my Horsefield tortoise !!
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)
