The BBQ sounds lovely. I love BBQs, really just for the gathering of friends and family and the eating outdoors. I love to eat outdoors and look forward to the sunny, warm days when we can do that. However, living in Scotland, we only get about 6 a year! Of course usually they are on a Tuesday afternoon when I am at work :(

I think you are quite right leaving Sidney's paw to get completely better before you take her back out again. It would be a complete waste of time if you rushed her back out before it is ready. Also it would be more pain for her to suffer for longer if it was to split open again.

    :)

girlatplay - Hi, and thanks for posting. We have terrible weather here a lot of the time. I live very near to the Pennines and lets just say it rains a lot. I am hoping to take Sidney out for a walk on Sunday but I think it will only be a short one. Hope all is well with you x

Due to the weather today I have had to rearrange my plans - but its still been an enjoyable day. I walked to the town centre gym this morning and did an hour on the treadmill followed by an hours dance aerobics then a walk home. Hopefully that will make up for last nights over indulgence. The plan was for me to do some more pointing of the patio but unfortunately I got rained off so I went to the cinema instead. i went to see "snitch" which was OK. It passed a couple of hours. I am not sure when I will be able to do any more work on the patio as the weather forecast is still for rain over the next day or so.
I have had a couple of nice things happen to me today. My son made me a lovely free sandwich at the shop he works at. Most enjoyable. Also I found £20 on the pavement outside my house. I couldn't believe it. I waited round to see if anyone was looking for it but no one came back. So for now its mine. I don't know what else I can do. I have also set up a direct debit from my current account to my building society account and I plan to make some serious savings out of this months salary as well as have a new window in the room that was my children's old playroom. I have made a trial payment to my building society account and once I know its worked out OK, I am going to make a large payment each month (hopefully).
I really need to catch up with some sleep tonight so i think an early night will be in order after a bit of googling and a bit of reading. I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Today has been really good but i am really tired now. I will be off to bed soon and hopefully get a lie in tomorrow morning. I woke up at 5am this morning. What !!! Anyway I had done my ironing and was at the gym before 7. I noticed when I was ironing that my laundry was lovely and clean and smelt great. I have just started to use Aldi washing liquid and it works out at 5p or so per wash. Brilliant. Anyway I did an hour on the treadmill in the gym then after shower etc I went to the cinema. I went to see "stand up guys" with Al Paccino. It was OK, nothing special. I called at the local discount bakery and bought 10 swiss rolls for £1 and a huge bag of rocky road for £1.20. I will save some for myself and give some to the kids.
Today was pay day for me and I have lots of plans. I have put money aside for my bills, saved £500 and this afternoon I ordered my window for the upstairs room. It was £323 but I was very happy with the price because its a very big window. I arranged for it to be fitted next Friday afternoon. I feel great having made more progress. Once the window is installed I will decorate the old playroom.
At tea time I met my friend at the carvery and I spent £8.50 on a huge carvery meal and a refillable diet coke. We had a wonderful chat. I have done nothing but eat today and tomorrow holds more of the same as I am seeing another friend. But Sundays a different story - I am going to be being a bit more careful with my food. After the carvery I dropped my friend off at her home and decided to call at my cousins for a chat about my aunty. We have decided that for various reasons we are going to only visit my aunt once a week in the nursing home for the time being and review the situation in a few weeks !
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

I am looking forward to getting into bed tonight as I am rather tired. I was up reasonably early and went and did a spot of shopping before zumba.I bought milk and a tube of sealant from the pound shop. I also bought 2 tubes of nivea face cream as it was on offer and some risotto from a town centre bargain shop. Zumba was great. I bombed home so i could get home and go to visit my friend in Liverpool (an hours drive away). Anyway we have had a great day and have done nothing but chat and have eaten loads !! She had bought be the most beautiful calla lily which i will plant in the garden tomorrow. I have had a very busy few days and I just plan to spend the day at home tomorrow apart from a morning visit to the gym. I am keeping my fingers crossed the weather is fine as I have lots of projects for my garden. I am also cutting back food wise for a few days as I have done nothing but eat with all the going out I have been doing these last few days.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

I have had a nice day today. Up nice and early to do some chores. Did my meter reading and paid British Gas. I was at the gym at 8am and did an hour on the treadmill. When I got home I decided to take Sidney a short trip to the park. Its the first time she has been out in a fortnight due to her cut paw. Anyway she loved being out.
The rest of the day has been rather productive. I have spent hours in the garden. I have now completed pointing the patio and it looks great. I did start to jet wash the drive which is a huge job. I got half way through it and the jet washer broke. Fantastic. The plan now is to buy another one tomorrow all being well. I also used the sealant I bought yesterday to reseal my upvc back door in the areas that the original seal had perished. Moved a couple of plants and put my Calla lily from yesterday in a nice big pot. Its beautiful.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

I just didn’t get chance to post yesterday as I was just too tired. I was sat in B&Q car park at 7am yesterday morning as I needed to buy a new pressure washer to complete the jet washing of the drive. By that time I had already done a couple of small household chores and filled the car up with petrol. I must be mad. I managed to get a fairly cheap pressure washer. Went straight to the gym and did 60 minutes on the treadmill. Once home I took Sidney to the park for a quick trip out. She is doing really well with her pay and a fortnight’s holiday from dog walking has done the trick.
I spend literally hour’s jet washing the drive again. Whilst it was drying I did some general chores in the garden (which is looking lovely) and one the drive was dry I brushed block paving sand into all the cracks round the bricks. It looks really good now that all the moss and weeds have gone.
After showering and having some food a work friend of mine called for a couple of hours and once he had gone I literally just fell in to bed as I was cream crackered from all the jet washing.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Yesterday was a work day for me and luckily it all went well. I have set up my online banking from my current account to my savings account. I did a trial transfer of £1 last week and once I found out the money had been successfully transferred, I moved £499 so that this month I will have saved £500. I know things will be a bit tight but I have still got loads of food in the house and only need to buy bread, milk etc.
After work I called at Sainsbury and bought a replacement top to replace the faulty one I returned last week. At the time the store didn’t have my size in but yesterday they did. I also went to the gym and did 40 minutes on the treadmill. I would have done longer but I wanted to get back home and take Sidney out. Did a few chores then had to set about organising a plumber. I have a rental house which has shall we say sprung a leak. I have arranged for a plumber to go round this morning and hopefully sort it out. There goes my savings!! Anyway last night was spent on the sofa reading my new book – l Auberge by Julia Stagg. It’s actually very amusing.
Anyway I hope everyone had a great moneysaving day x :)

Wow - Really tired. i was at work at a very silly time this morning but the good thing is that i was able to leave at 1pm which was fabulous. I have decided to change my shift pattern for next week due to the heat wave we are alleged to be getting or as I said at work - for the needs of the business !! Anyway I will be working different hours for a change ! My friend came round this afternoon and did my nails for me so they are looking very smart now. When she had gone I decided to walk up to town and do the tea time zumba class at the gym - very enjoyable. Obviously I am really tired so i will be having a sit down soon with my book.
Not sure how i will be money wise this month as my plumber hasn't told me how much i owe him yet. However I think it is likely to be an expensive job so my savings may have to come out of the bank again. Never mind. At least I had them for 2 days !!! I will have to see how much he charges me and tailor the rest of the month accordingly.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

God I actually woke up tired this morning but knew I wouldn't get back to sleep......so I got up. I walked into town early and called in at Sainsburys as I had noticed that the sale had started. Anyway I couldn't resist buying some Khaki coloured jeggins in the sale at £6.25. I had bought the same pair (in white) at the full price earlier in the year and they are fabulous. Obviously i wasn't going to walk past them as they had my name on them !!! Bought milk also....boring. Anyway despite being tired I did an hour on the treadmill but decided to give dance aerobics a miss as I felt to tired to concentrate. Walked home and then took Sid to the park where I met a lovely friend who I haven't seen for a couple of years and it was wonderful to have a catch up. I have had a great afternoon. I went to watch "Hummingbird" at the cinema and it was a really good film and Jason Statham is very easy on the eye also ! When I got back I decided to have a big reorganize in the garage. I just wanted to get things sorted as the weather is dry here today. I can now get 2 cars in with ease. Job done. I should have organized things ages ago but its a job I never got round to.
The plan for tonight is to make a couple of phone calls then get my feet up with my book.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Bring on the heatwave !!! Its been gorgeous here in the North West today and the forecast is for at least a week of good weather !!! Anyway I was up really early as usual this morning, but for once I was glad I was. I went to the gym before 7am and did 60 minutes on the treadmill. I did a few errands - Asda for my porridge (only Asda for me), I went to the tip to drop off some rubbish from the garden, Aldi for apples, banana and yoghurt and then I bought some more mortar from Wickes. After taking Sid out the the park I decided to do a bit of work with the mortar. I have a small cement slope from my block paved drive into my garage. Anyhow part of the slope had perished over the years of driving over it. I spent £3.69 on a bucket of ready to mix mortar and fixed it. As the weather is so warm, the mortar was dry in no time and I have been able to drive over it and put the car in the garage for the night. I had to stay in this afternoon as I was having the upvc window fitted to my children's old playroom. Its all done now and the room is ready to decorate. However I don't think I will be decorating very soon now the weather is so good. I will be spending as much time as i can in my garden. As I was staying at home whilst the window was fitted I stripped my bed, washed the bedding, dried it and had it back on the bed in no time at all. Also did some ironing as well as pottering about the garden.
When the window fitter had gone, I went to visit my aunt in the home for an hour. Unfortunately due to my aunts mental health, it wasn't a very successful visit but hey ho, my cousin and i are doing our best.
Anyway my plan now is to have a bit of a Google and read my new book - Wuhu diary - Emily Prager. Its about adopting a baby from China and I am enjoying it already.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)
