You've spurred me into looking at exercise classes :) Other than walking, which I know is good, I don't do anything else which is bad and I think something that fun will make me stick with it rather than going to the gym. Good that your aunty's made some progress, sounds like the nursing home is suiting her?

diamond_sky - Hi and thanks for commenting. I would recommend zumba classes to anyone. Any level of fitness can join in and the more times you go the sooner you learn the steps. Also if you work hard at the class, you can burn loads of calories and its fun x

The weather in the North West has been lovely today. I got up early and walked straight to town. I went to the town centre car boot sale and had a bit of a spend (£5-90p in total). I bought 3 pieces of Portmeirion pottery for £2-20 which was a huge bargain. I bought a lamp for £2 which will look wonderful in the new room when its finished. I also bought 2 blue and white ironstone candlestick holders which I will probably have on the fireplace in my bedroom - £1. I bought a sealed sanctuary shower gel for 20p and my bargain was a pair of brand new brown leather Red Herring boots for £1. The lady was selling things at ridiculously low prices and was apologizing to me that they were £1. I told her I would be having them if they were 2 left feet !! Winter boots now sorted. At last a bit of luck.
I went straight from the car boot sale to the gym and did an hour on the running machine. Then a nice walk back home in the sunshine carrying all my goodies. Before my shower etc I took Sid to the park for her run around.
This afternoon I went shopping with my friend. I bought a new black bra and some baby wipes which I use every morning and evening to clean my face. We had a cup of tea in a cafe so that cost £1-70. All in all a nice cheap trip out especially as we sat for over an hour in the cafe watching the world go by.
The plan for tonight is to get my feet up and have a read.
I hope everyone is having a great moneysaving day x :)

Today hasnt turned out as planned. I was up nice and early and out with Sid to the park. I decided that as I was going to the out of town gym this morning I would take the car instead of walking. I could then do a few errands. I filled the car up with petrol and then called at Asda for a few groceries before my zumba class and a 40 minute session on the running machine. Also went to the library to return some books and took some shoes to be re heeled. Then went to Aldi and bought some groceries from there as well. At least I was able to combine loads of errands !!! Finally went to the building society and did a bit of juggling about with money which belongs to my youngest son as his car insurance is due very soon and I need to pay it for him. Lastly went to Sainsburys and had a spend on a few more new clothes. Bought a lovely navy and white tunic which will look fabulous with jeans or leggins. I also bought a pair of white jeggins. Just a little bit more investing in myself !!!!! I actually don't actually have that many clothes in my wardrobe. Maybe about 14 items which are now a size 10 or thereabouts. Everything else has either been got rid of or has been put away hopefully never to be seen again. I really hope that I manage to stay at the weight I am now, give or take a few pounds, as I am loving buying new things for myself.
Anyway this is where the plan deviated. Workmen turned up unexpectedly to do the cavity wall insulation this afternoon and lets just say its a big job !! They were not supposed to be doing the job today but I decided to let them go ahead as there appears to have been a mix up with dates. However its been a bit of a pain because Sidney hasn't stopped grumbling all afternoon. Its all done now so I hope the house is a lot warmer this winter.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Well its been gorgeous weather today in the North West. However I haven't seen much of it as I was at work till 2pm. Once I got home I took Sid to the park for a mooch round. I am going to a BBQ tomorrow afternoon after work so I decided to try on a few clothes and see what fits and is suitable for a BBQ. Not really had 5 minutes to myself really as I went straight out to see my youngest son as its his birthday today. I didn't buy him anything as my £2 coin collection has been used to tax his car. I also went to the nursing home to visit my aunty.
As I have got work very early in the morning, I will probably just have an early night with my book. I am about to start a new one - The boy in the river by Richard Hoskins. I will let you know what I think about it.
I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

I didnt get 5 minutes to myself yesterday. I was up at the crack of dawn and off to work. The day went OK. I am trying to be more positive about work (which I really do not like). All in all the day went OK. If I keep busy then its better than when there is less work to do. Anyway its over for this week. When I got home from work I quickly had a shower and got changed before my friend came and picked me and Sidney up. We were going to a bbq. It was OK for Sid to attend as there were other dogs there. Even though she had to sacrifice her run round the park, I think she had a great time with the other dogs and also supervising the bbq leftovers. It was very late when we got back and I was really tired when I got up at 6 this morning - but hey ho I have got a lot to be getting on with.
Last night i had a bit of a blow out with food - It would be rude not to at a bbq. This morning I still feel full. I think I will be having a light day food wise today !! It was lovely to go out and wear nice new clothes and feel really slim.
Anyway I hope everyone had a great moneysaving day x :)

We have had the most glorious weather today in the North West. I didn't take Sid to the park this morning as there is a fair there for the weekend so we went to the playing field instead. Stripped the bed and washed the bedding. Also washed the towels. All before 8am. I must be mad. Walked to the town centre gym and did 60 minutes on the running machine. I also went to my dance aerobics class. I haven't done any exercise since Monday and I felt like I was getting withdrawl symptoms. Had a little spend and bought a couple of deodorants as I am actually starting to run out !!
This afternoon I have been very busy. Basically I have cleaned the downstairs of the house which has been quite a big job. Really I just needed to dust and hoover. I also remade the bed and did some ironing. Success. After a quick shower etc I decided to visit my aunt at the nursing home. Very nearby is the local Matalan and I treated myself to a pair of white slip on wedge sandals and a pair of gold dolly shoes. Both are leather and should have been £18 per pair but Matalan had an offer of 2 pairs for £20. I was delighted. I know I will get good wear out of both pairs of shoes especially as we are pretty much at the start of the Summer (if we get one!!). Stayed with aunty for an hour or so.
The plan for tonight is to get my feet up hopefully with my book. Its actually quite riveting although the subject matter could be quite upsetting.
Anyway I hope everyone is having a great moneysaving day x :)

Weather wise we have had another fantastic day here in the north West. I got up nice and early and walked to the town centre gym for when it opened at 7am !!! I did an hour on the runninmg machine then walked home. I just had time to take Sid for a quick run on the field before my friend arrived to do my nails. She does them for me about every three weeks and I love having them done. Once she had left I got stuck into a load of chores - I strimmed the grass on the land at the side of my house. It looks great now. Buying a petrol strimmer was a great decision and well worth the money. I bought it last year and its worth its weight in gold. I filled the pond with water as a lot has evaporated due to the heat. I also did some general gardening chores. When it got a bit too hot I came in and made a large Thai red curry with the very final leftovers from my food stocks. I made 6 portions and they have now cooled and are in the freezer.
Anyway I think i have done enough for today. The plan now is to jump in the shower then get my feet up with my book.
I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Wow, yet another gorgeous day weather wise in the North West today, Sidney and I went to the field for her run early this morning. I will be so glad when the fair has left the park. Its far nicer than the field. As it was quite early I decided to do a bit of furniture moving !! I have a morning room at home next to the kitchen which is the room where I live all the time. Since the TV has gone off the wall I decided that I could move the table, sideboard and sofa to any position I wanted as I no longer have to consider the sofa being in a good position for the TV. Anyway in 5 minutes I had moved the 3 pieces of furniture and I love my "new room".
Today my friend was driving us to zumba as she was buying suitcases after class and would need the car. So I got a ride up to town but I did walk back after zumba. Had a couple of little spends. Had to buy some postage stamps(robbing sods!!) to post some birthday cards. Also bought some milk and some granulated sweetner. Altogether £4.10.
When I got home from zumba I decided to do an hours emulsioning in the wash house. Its not a job I want to do as I want white walls and my son many moons ago painted the walls orange. Anyway I decided the best thing to do is to paint an hour at a time otherwise I will be overwhelmed with the task. So an hour I did. Then had my shower !
This afternoon I have been to see my aunt at the nursing home. She wasn't as good as usual but still better than she was in the hospital.
The plan for tonight is to get my feet up as I have got a busy day planned for tomorrow. I have started a new book - Linda Fairley - The midwifes here. I have read the first chapter and it seems OK.
Anyway I hope everyone is having a great moneysaving day x :)

Today has been a tad different for me, although it started the same. I got up super early and went to the town centre car boot sale. I bought a steam cleaner, brand new in the box £2, a small pink shelf in the shape of a butterfly - £1, an almost new leather Debenhams purse - 50p and a Portmeirion Botanical garden mug - 20p. After my peruse round the car boot sale I went to the gym and did an hour on the running machine. I walked home then took Sid to the field for her run round. This afternoon I did a bit more emulsioning in the wash house. I think its going to take a week or so for the painting to be done, but at least by doing small amounts, I am not getting bored out of my head. I have actually got loads of painting to do - the wash house, then the kids old playroom, so I need to stick to my plan of doing about an hour a day !.
Most of the afternoon was spent sat in the garden then a friend from Glasgow arrived en route to Warrington. We went to the curry mile in Manchester for a meal and it was lovely. So its been a lovely change and wonderful to see my old friend.
Had 3 use ups on the toiletries front - body lotion, shower gel and facial exfoliater.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

I have tried to make the most of what is expected to be our last day of sunshine in the North West for a few days. That means tons of rain is on its way !! Took Sid to the field nice and early then went to Tesco and Aldi and spent a grand total of £4.34 on bread, apples, bananas, cordial and a tin of herrings. Went to the gym and did 40 minutes on the treadmill followed by my zumba class. I certainly felt like I had worked off last nights curry.
When I got home I did a few chores then went to the hairdressers and had a dry cut - cost £9, which I think is brilliant. As I have quite wavy hair I never use appliances to dry or style my hair it at home so I don't bother paying to have it done at the hairdressers either.
This evening a work friend has been round for a coffee. He has stayed about two hours which was really nice. We have been friends for about 15 years but sometimes its just nice to have a chat away from the workplace.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)
