We had curry last night too. We went to my mum and dad's for tea. It was loooooverly! That is great you got the leftovers. We got leftover soup (actually, I requested that extra was made). I did make the unfortunate mistake of bringing it to work for lunch today. Talk about too hot!

girlatplay - Thanks for posting. Curry is wonderful. I just love it and can eat it any day of the week !! I am a proper curry monster. Take care x
This afternoon went according to plan. I went shopping in a town about 8 miles away from where i live as i had been told that the £ shop there sold cans of spray paint in loads of different colour. Anyway I had a bit of a spend. I bought 3 cans of bright pink paint, a can of silver ( for transforming photograph frames) and a spray can of adhesive for my patchwork projects. I also treated myself to several bottles of shampoo as my hair has gone a bit flat and I think I need to use some different products. We shall see !
When I got home I lugged my old tatty Lloyd loom chair out into the garden and transformed it. It is now a beautiful bright pink specimen and will be just perfect in my new upstairs room once it has been replastered. It cost me £3 for the paint ! I also decided to sort out a camera that has been lurking in the drawer for a couple of years. It was my dear husbands cast off. Anyway I have had a quick look at it and I pretty much know how it works....so I will be taking some lovely picture soon of our new baby, and her older brother as well !!!
Anyway I have really enjoyed myself today and I hope that everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Made an early start this morning due to magpies making a load of racket on my roof at some ridiculous hour. Anyway Sid has been to the park for a nice run round. I have been to the gym and done my 60 minutes on the treadmill. On the way back I called at Aldi and I bought a couple of bags of apples and a pot of yoghurt. Last of the big spenders. Going to have most of the day at home hopefully doing a few jobs before i go out to meet my friend for our tea !:)

The remainder of today has seen me doing loads of bits of jobs round the house. I have also sent loads of emails and made phone calls and just generally caught up with a few things. Late this afternoon I met my friend and we had a carvery tea which was delicious and made a change from cooking. We have loads in common and have spent almost 4 hours chatting. Only spent £8 and that included the food. Bargain
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Managed to sleep in a bit later this morning then walked to town as soon as I had got up. I went to Max Spielmann and collected 4 old photos I had been having copied and enlarged. I have got loads of photos in my house from allsorts of generations back.....and I am delighted with the 4 new additions. I am going to find frames for them tonight then put them aside till the old playroom is ready and they can be displayed there.
Went to zumba this morning and had a good old dance about. Enjoyed myself. When I got home i took Sid to the park for a run around. Its not quite as warm here today but its still hot. After a quick shower etc I went and picked my grandson up. We went to an out of town park where there was an outdoor paddling pool. Lets just say he came home in his underpants !! He had a great time....and so did I. Anyway I took him home a short while ago as he was falling asleep with having had loads of fresh air.
Had a nice surprise as well. I mentioned to a close friend that I wanted to buy a shredder / mulcher to chop up all my garden trimmings. I spend a fortune on buying mulch each spring so I thought it would be a wise investment to buy a shredder and basically make my own mulch. Anyway the cheapest shredder i have seen is £80 and some are a few hundred pounds. Anyway my friend bid on eBay and got me an almost new one for........£10.50. I was delighted. It will save me loads of money in the long run.
Anyway tonight's plans are for a rest and a read as I am tired after running around after my grandson in the fresh air. I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x

Hello Sidney's mum, great news on the shredder. I spend a fortune on compost so my next splash of the cash will be on a composter.
Spend less now, work less later.

Jazee - Hi. Hope you are well x. I am hoping to get the shredder tomorrow, then there will be no stopping me !!!

I have had a really nice day today. I was up really early and had walked it to town before 7am. I went to to the town centre car boot sale and spent a bit of money !! I spent £4-50 and got some fabulous bargains - light shade 50p (now in my cloakroom), Anne Geddes large ladybird doll £1, As new M&S Portfolio black wedge sandals 50p, Old fashioned alarm clock 50p, Me to you teddy 50p (for a present), Gym bag 50p, Small limited edition print £1. (Now on display at the side of my dining room fireplace). I just really enjoyed myself having a browse so it was money well spent. Afterwards I went to the gym and did an hour on the treadmill before walking home.
Sid had her run to the park before i went out for an afternoon of retail therapy with my friend. We did have a little break from the shopping when we stopped for a drink. I bought a couple of photograph mounts to use with the photographs I had copied yesterday. i also bought a white paper shade for in my wash house. All in all, a cheap afternoon out.
We came back to my house for a coffee and more chat !! My son then came to drop off some spare salad veg and bread for my pets. So........all in all a really nice day.
Going to have some food, do some chores and sort out my old photographs and put them into frames. I have also started a new book this morning - Encore Valentine by Adriana Trigiani. My bookcases are looking a lot less packed these days and don't look a mess.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

That's how I feel too :) It makes me want to do stuff instead of just sit on my bottom staring at the computer screen!

ss3n08 and girlatplay - Thanks for your kind comments. I have lived on my own for over 2 years now and when my husband left it was a massive shock. Once the first month was over with and I realised he wasn't coming back, I managed to have a good talk to myself. I decided it would be better for me to keep busy, initially just to get through. Now its just the way I do things.....and I feel great. I just try to make the most of every day and just do the things I enjoy. I dont spend a lot of money. Everything I do is done on a budget. My gym costs me about £21 per month, my unlimited cinema membership £15 and if i go out for a meal with a friend it will be to say the carvery at £8 which includes an unlimited drink refill. Nothing like living on a budget. Hope to hear from you both soon x x

Today has been very hot, but I believe the weather i changing tomorrow here in the North West. Up nice and early and took Sid to the park. Had a bit of time on the computer before i went to the gym. Made my weekly payment to British Gas as their service was unavailable yesterday. Once at the gym I did 50 minutes on the treadmill then my zumba class. It was a bit shorter than normal due to the heat.
After a spot of lunch and a visit from one of my sons, my work friend arrived. He had picked up a garden mulcher for me for £10.50 on eBay. So good of him. Obviously I gave him the cash. He then took me to a ladies house where we picked up 2 baby guinea pigs. One is white with red eyes and the other is all black with black eyes. I am obviously telling everyone they are for my grandson.............but they are for me. Another friend had donated a huge cage and all the dishes, bottles etc so I thought why not !! Anyway they are sat on my knee whist i am at the laptop. All in all I have had a nice day.
I have had to scrap reading the book i started last night as I realised it is the third book in a trilogy. I will have to try and get the first 2 books from the library. So I have started reading - A lotus grows in the mud by Goldie Hawn.
Anyway its time for leftover curry for tea and playing with the GPs . I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)
