Yes, I also hope you are back to normal today. Surgery is not lovely no matter what part of the body it is on nor how long you are in for. I have surgery every now and then too (next op 28th August although completely different surgery). (((careful hugs))) ;)

tootallulah, girl at play and LeaLea89 - Thanks so much for your comments. After a good nights sleep I thankfully feel great today. I hate having to sit around and take it easy !!

Sidney and I were up nice and early and off to the park. I happened to come across yet another large piece of wood which someone was throwing out. Lets just say it followed me home. I am going to approach my handyman neighbour soon and ask him to use the wood to make more shelves for my pantry. I decided to give the chicken coop a clean out this morning now that its empty. I might just sell it on eBay as its got loads of mileage left in it. I also gave the playroom a good scrub and hoover so its all ready for painting now. Before my lunchtime zumba class i decided to go to B&Q and buy some new paintbrushes and a paint roller. I decided I was not going to buy cheap stuff but to buy good quality ones as I am planning on doing a lot of painting over the coming months. I cant stand painting when bristles are coming out of the brush. Anyway I bought brushes and a roller made by Harris. I will put them to the test soon. I have decided to use some of my £2 coin stash to fund my painting and I used some of them to buy my equipment this morning.
Went to zumba at lunch time which was great and afterwards i happened to pop into a local charity shop and I came out with a halogen oven. I paid £8. Lets just say I will be testing it fairly soon. Apparently they are far cheaper to run than a conventional oven. We shall see!! After zumba I collected my grandson and we spent an afternoon together before I dropped him off at tea time. I then went to the tea time zumba class. I am definitely making up for yesterday inactivity.
Time is getting on now so I will probably have a read for an hour then get myself off to bed. I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Hi I have read your complete diary in a non stalkerish way. it makes me have hope that life can get simpler and i applaud your weight loss and moneysaving ways. It also calms me to read about you and yours comings and goings.
You are putting me to shame with all your activities and I have to ask how long does it take you to walk to the gym?
And being totally nosey but I am frustrated that a bit of the jigsaw is missing but what do you do for two days a week that you can start so early to be finished early?

Hi Sheila / Mint1955 - Thanks so much for posting. Its great to hear from you. It makes me feel good to know that other people are reading my ramblings ! Regarding the gym. When I go to the town centre gym it takes me 20 minutes each way, walking at a brisk pace. If I go to the out of town gym, its 40 minutes each way. However the main reason I walk is to save money. If I take the car, not only do I have the petrol costs to contend with but also the car parking fees. As I go to the gym pretty much every day, this could be quite excessive. Walking actually saves me loads of cash. My job.......well shall we say I work in law enforcement dealing with serious crime. I dont want to be too specific as to the exact location of my job but my place of work is open 24/7 and i can work pretty much the hours I want. I hope you keep reading Shelia and feel free to ask any questions you like x

Today has been good. I was up as usual pretty early and went to the park with Sid. I then walked to the town centre gym and did 50 minutes on the treadmill. I then did my usual Thursday morning dance class which was great fun. When I got back I did an hours painting in the playroom using my new emulsion roller. I only did an hour as I was going out to a friends house for a meal. We had rib eye steak, new potatoes, salad etc followed by trifle. It was really good. I have only just got in now. Sidney came with me and had a great night.
A good thing happened today in that I was able to buy a book from Ebay which I have been after for ages. Its called "Vanished at Sea" by Tina Dirmann. It is not freely available in this country so i was really lucky to be able to buy it for £2.99 including postage.
Anyway I am going to have a quick drink then off to bed. I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Thanks for filling in the gaps ;-) I have been thinking of trying to walk to the gym but it might be 45 mins each way but I will give it a go. It would save the petrol but I am already done in when I leave the gym as I am 57 and spend the afternoons exhausted already!
I tend to do 2 aqua aerobic 45 min sessions and 3 x hour or hour and a half gym sessions during the week. At the weekend I have been trying to keep up with couch to 5k but have realised that I really don't enjoy running so good walking sessions with a friend are now my choice.
Retired now and kids all left home it's just me and OH who still works full time so time drags a bit but I am getting back into cooking more interesting things for just us two.
I struggle to do nothing or things that feel like I am wasting time but I am practising hard LOL

I laughed out loud at this!

Sheila, could you walk to the gym then take public transport home when you are finished? That could be your treat to yourself for when you are finished your classes, a nice ride home. I realise that there may be no suitable public transport though.

Sidneysmum your job sounds really interesting and yes, great hours! That is a great price for the book from overseas and including delivery. Hope you enjoy it now.

Thanks Girl, but the cost would be more than the car!!!
My friend who shares car journeys and gym sessions and I have had a chat this morning and we are going to do more fun gym than killer gym as its really not enjoyable going all out as we have been. Saying that shape has changed and weight levels are good.
