Hi Mint1955 and girlatplay - Thanks both of you for your comments. As I have got quite a lot of time on my hands, I have made exercise a very big part of my life. Not only does it keep me busy but it makes me feel really good. When I use the treadmill at the gym, I use this as my "thinking time". I am completely away with the fairies and I think about everything from my children, my plans, money, shopping etc. I also like going in the gym as its given me chance to meets lots of people. The exercise classes I go to are just for fun and i love them. I love seeing all the people who attend and we do nothing but chat and laugh. Anyway....I think its mainly about finding what suits the individual. Have a good weekend both of you x x

Today has been another nice day. Although i felt like stopping in bed, I decided to get up early as usual and go to the park with Sid. Afterwards I went to the gym and did an hour on the treadmill. I was back before 9am and decided to crack on with the playroom painting. I have put a couple of quick coats of emulsion on the walls and ceiling but its such a big room, it will need a few more hours work. After lunch and a shower, I decided to go and buy another huge drum of emulsion as I am running out of paint. I called in at a local charity shop and bought myself a pair of size 10 skinny jeans in a bit of an animal print design !! Sound awful but actually look really good on. I paid the huge sum of £3 and was delighted as they are clearly brand new. After my stroke of good luck, I decided to sneak back to the gym and go to the teatime zumba class which was just the best of fun.
Anyway i have done enough today between all the exercise and the painting. I am going to get my feet up and eat some cake !! I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Where has today gone ? I have just sat down for 2 minutes !!! Sidney and I were up early as usual and to the park for our early morning amble. Decided to make a couple of meals to put in the fridge for the next couple of days - chicken with sweet chilli and garlic sauce and chicken in a Bengali coconut sauce. Had a walk up to town and spent a few pound in the pound shop on a diy decorators gun, light bulbs, flea collar and a child's plastic bucket and spade. Went to my usual Saturday morning zumba class which was good fun. After a quick shower etc i went and collected my grandson. We made a short visit to my aunt who is in the nursing home and we have spent the rest of the day in the park then back to my house just playing with his toys and the guinea pigs. He loves them almost as much as I do !!
I actually feel really tired now - probably due to all the exercise and the fresh air. I am just going to have a potter about tonight and do some reading and do a few small jobs. I dont want to be late going to bed tonight as i hope to be up quite early in the morning and hopefully do more painting in the playroom.
I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x

I seem to have packed a lot into today even by my standards. I was up early and drove to the town centre gym. Before going in I went round the town centre car boot sale - that's the reason i went in the car. I bought a few things which were real bargains. 2 sheepskin rugs in beautiful condition £3 (I will be putting them in the spare bedrooms), 2 plaster garlands which will be painted and then found a home £2, 2 very large oblong ceramic tiles depicting parrots and other birds which are stunning £1, A huge amount of plastic dinosaurs, some very big and some small £5 approx (sounds a lot but a massive bargain). My grandson will be over the moon with them as all he does is talk about dinosaurs.
After an hour on so on the boot sale I went to the gym and did 60 minutes on the treadmill. When I came home I took Sid to the park for our morning roam round. After some food I set about doing some more painting in the playroom. It is really coming together. Hopefully i will get the paintwork done this week. I took a bit of a break to nip out to the shops. I spent a few pound in both Aldi and Asda but managed to get some very cheap melon at Asda which was reduced to 20p. The plan was to give it to the guinea pigs but i have eaten some myself !! I have just done some more painting but i am done for the day now. I just want to get my feet up and relax for a while.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x

In a very short while, I plan to just sit down on the sofa and just have a bit of a read and do nothing. I was actually planning quite an easy day but it has turned into quite a lot of hard work. I was up early as usual and took Sid to the park then set off on my travels. I called to fill up Gladys with petrol, then went to the gym and did 60 minutes on the treadmill. I then did a spot of shopping which entailed buying some rice and some face cream. Next stop the barbers where the lady barber did a dry cut for me. As i dont style may hair at all as its quite wavy and looks OK as it is, this is the best option for me. No fancy hairdressers prices for me. I then went and got a key cut at the hardware shop, then went to my local bargain bakery and bought huge amount of flapjack and chocolate crispie cake for £4. I am planning on splitting the huge bags up into small portions so i can let my sons have some. My last stop was at my mobile phone shop. My phone contract is up for renewal / upgrade so I went and got a new phone with my previous usage package for £5 a month cheaper. Felt pleased at that. However i am not too sure how the phone works yet but i am getting there.
When I eventually got home, my handyman neighbour arrived and said he wanted to do a few jobs i had mentioned to him. His visit was a bit unexpected but i wasn't going to let him go away when he could get stuff done for me. He put up 2 big shelves in my pantry which are fantastic. He also put up another piece of worktop in my wash house. All the wood was either given to me or found and looks fantastic. He also made 2 slats for the base of my Victorian day bed as 2 were missing. Anyway i have spent all afternoon helping out and cleaning up. I have also managed to sort out a load of leftover vegetables my son had dropped off last night which are destined for my GPs and the tortoise. He saves me a fortune. I hope he doesn't change jobs for a while !! Anyway hopefully that's me done for today as i just want to sit around and relax. I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Today has been my first day back in work after my day surgery. Thankfully it went quite quickly and hopefully tomorrow will too. On my way home i called off at the gym. I only did 30 minutes on the treadmill but i have been feeling a tad under the weather today so decided to just do the minimum. I didn't have to take Sidney out for a walk as she was already out in the park with my neighbour. I have just done a bit of pottering about and done a bit more painting in the playroom. I am hoping to do a bit every day from now on until its all completed. Hopefully that will be very soon. Just going to get my feet up and get the GPs out for half an hour. Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x

Tonight i feel really tired for some reason. All I have done today really is gone to work and called at one of my sons on the way home. Its actually a strange day for me. Its my sons birthday today (the one i called to see) and he is 26 today. But its also the anniversary of my mums death (23 years ago today). I haven't missed my mum today any more than usual.......because i miss her every day, but after 23 years i have come to some sort of acceptance. However it feels strange to look back and realise that my last memories are of her as a middle aged woman. She will never be old to me. Anyway.......it was lovely to see my son. He is just so lovely !!
Decided not to go to zumba tonight as i was feeling tired. I have just started a new book - Tom Kippers Schooldays by Peter Sale. I finished the Goldie Hawn book last night which was really good. She comes across as such a lovely person as well as being a celebrity.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

I think that it doesn't matter how long it has been since someone passed, there is always a void where they used to be, in your life. I can't imagine what it must be like to lose your mum. I'm sorry that you have to live with that day to day. I'm sure you have lovely memories and I'm sure your mum will be up there delighted that she is remembered as "young"! xx

girlatplay - Thank you so much for your lovely comments. What lovely things to say. Thanks x

I have had a really nice day today, seeing loads of people, doing loads of chatting and just generally enjoying myself. I was up early with Sid and off to the park. Maybe when the mornings are darker, I might stay in bed longer but it seems a shame at the moment to waste any of the day in bed. I went to town in the car and did 30 minutes in the treadmill then did my dance aerobics class. I went in the car as I had promised my sons girlfriend that i would call at her house after my dance class to do a little job for her. Anyway that's what i did. Once i was home i had my shower etc and got myself ready to go out. I did a few little chores but nothing major. I then went to the local carvery where i met my friend and we had some food and a few hours chatting. I have actually only just got back home. Anyway I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

Another day almost over....the time just seems to fly past. Today I was up nice and early and decided to go to the gym first thing as it was bucketing it down with rain. After an hour on the treadmill i came home and the weather had improved so i took Sidney out. Most of the day has been spent painting the playroom. I would say I am two thirds there but still some more to do. Its looking good though !! At tea time i decided to go to a zumba class otherwise it would have been a long day at home. Since getting back i have done a few chores. I am planning on a sit down soon with my feet up and some cake !!!
I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x :)

OMG, the weather is dreadful here today. I managed to get Sid out to the park first thing before the heavens opened but we have had loads of rain for the rest of the day. I went up to the town centre gym this morning and did my zumba class which was rather depleted of participants, probably due to the weather. I came home and managed to do a few jobs before i went and picked up my grandson. We went to the nursing home to visit my aunt for a little while (they both have short attention spans !). We normally go in the park afterwards but the weather didn't permit ! So we came home and got out all the toy dinosaurs i had bought at last weeks car boot sale. It was £5 well spent, that's all i can say ! Anyway the little fella has gone home now and i am tired. I will most likely get my feet up for a few hours and have a google then a read !
I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x
