Good Evening to you all..
I Continue To Dream.. I am so sorry about your dog! My cat is so precious to me and couldn't think what it might be like if she was ill.. I have dealt with it once and couldn't bare going to work leaving her! I understand your budget going - don't worry about that. Stay close to us though and PLEASE keep us updated. I want to know how he is.. please post a happy doggie picture that we can all coo over...
He will be okay - then we get your NSDs back on track and you can have a pork scratchings with the doggie...
I have been sorting things on eBay all day .. had a little sleep this monring.. then am baking bread the old fashioned way as the bread machine has given up the ghost!
Plums are defrosted and look frightening so I am not going to use them - shame as I could have done with some yummy jars of home-made jam for family. Might use the jars for red onion chutney instead.. make my own pie bases and stash some goats cheese somewhere... always an easy option.
I made some "peshwari naan" pizzas today.. I got them from AP and froze them straight away. I put home-made spicey tomato sauce on them, with pineapple, frozen corn, jalapenos and lots of cheese. I have three left and will have snacks throughout the week..
Am desperately in need for milk but am going to try and finish off all my herbal teas first....bluuuuuuuuurgh!!! Whoever thought buying green tea and jasmine was a great idea!.
Right gotta go finish this bread... I know everyone is struggling now in week two.. we knew it would get hard. Don't beat ourself up by missing an NSD... just keep thinking MSE...:T:T:T
Onwards and Upwards!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -

icontinuetodream, I'm sorry about your dog. Hope everything's okay with him!
Seems everyone's managed to have a busy weekend - and a non-spendy weekendI had to do a small supermarket trip to top up on veggies and bagels and went a bit mad buying a potato masher - hurrah, I can finally make my cottage pie :j Thanks to my just-before-closing-time visit, I spent the grand total of £5.56 so although a spendy day, a cheap spendy day :T (I'll PM you kat with my total shortly)
So, we're more than a third of the way through the challenge and so far I have used:
one third of a tank of petrol :T
less than a third of my shopping budget :T
two of my five NSDs :T
almost half of my monthly electricity
Thursday's the halfway point and I look to be on track (hopefully a little under on my shopping so I can bank a bit at the end of the month), although all this staying in has put my heating bill up! I should invest in some door foam stuff to plug the gaps between my door and the frame. I'll enjoy the heater tonight and calm it down a bit from tomorrow. Open plan living room/kitchens with patio doors are no good when you're MSEing!
Ebay listings ending tonight, some with bids so hopefully I'll get another small chunk paid off my Virgin card....love Sunday nights!0 -
Evening all!
Another NSD for me todaythough Hubby treated us to a bottle of wine with his winnings from the lottery. Rising from the ashes - in our house Hubby pays all the bills (he has the 123 account so makes sense) I pay for food, entertainment, the cats insurance/vet bills, gym etc and we both have money left over for our "spending money". I'm not counting any of his spending money spent on me but am including any of my spending money I spend as other spends.
Had the chicken & veg soup I made yesterday for lunch. Hubby liked it and wants to take some for his lunch tomorrow
Home made fish pie tonight, made 1 to freeze too (4 portions cost just under £4 by my reckoning) it's really helping me working out how much each meal has cost, hubby's impressed at how cheaply we can make good home-made meals.
icontinuetodream - I know exactly how you feel. One of my cats has such bad teeth (too old to operate on), he struggles to eat sometimes and has been treated to tinned tuna/sardines or shredded chicken when he loses his appetite. Hope pooch is ok. Sending you hugs.
Oh, the SAD blue light we listed on ebay sold earlier for £163 and the 2nd lot of stamps are at £16. £195 made on ebay this weekend:T0 -
I've not ventured out of the house at all today so another nsd for me. I made shepherd's pie for dinner, with enough left over for tomorrow night's dinner as well. The kids were entertained making chocolate truffles that my daughter had done at school last week and wanted to make more of. Luckily I had all of the ingredients in.
We did start watching a Christmas film, but unfortunately the kids behaviour descended into chaos and I had to switch it off and make them find ways of entertaining themselves without all the electronics that we seem to have in the house.
Icontinuetodream - hope all is ok with the dog. We've only had our cat for 4 months but it's amazing how quickly they become another member of the family isn't it?
Car is looking a little low petrol wise but I should be able to get a couple more days out of it.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

icon .. hope you're doggie is gonna be ok ...
i have another NSD under my belt .. it was challenging as i had to make change for planned spends for tomorrow but rather then going in to a shop i changed it at work (needed a tenner and i had a 20) and the £1.75 ex put in for DD's school photos means i didnt have to find other change by spending or raiding my change jar (for once actually has change in it rather then moths and cob webs ...
im sooooo loving this challenge i think its just what i needed .. i realised this month for me (by months i mean payday months) is a 5 weeker and i know 5 weekers usually mean by the end of the 3rd week im lending pennies ... i WILL NOT!!!! do it this month ... and then NEVER again unless it means my children wont eat of course (my children are above my pride) ....
as for OH's treating ive told OH about me being stricter ... im not asking and im not hinting ... in all honesty i dont want any help but if he chooses to treat me which half the time i tell him no anyway i cant stop him although if its expensive im not above marching him back for a refund :rotfl:...
right im off to update my sig then to get in a hot bubble bath with the last of my stress release radox (i have cheapie stuff after this so wont be buying more) ... not had an 8 hour non broken sleep in ... well ... a while put it that way and with the way works been and keeping on top of everything im shattered ... i got emotional at missing doing my art and painting last nighti do but no need to nearly cry over it
off i pop x
Still searching .....:)
