    What a challenge!!!

Ok - count me in!!! :T

My computer is on the blink but I will check in when I can. Also have my 40th Birthday this month so will include that now as a spend day!... I have been deliberating for ages what I should do for it and all the ideas I came up with were really expensive. I always think Brithdays are a good time to celebrate but also reflect on what you want in the year ahead - and being debt free is right up there... so yes - this seems like a great idea.

Question. I do have some cider in already that I bought this month (it was on offer!). Does that mean I can't touch any of that until December??? (I'm a guy) Yikes!!! Or can that count as things I have in my food cupboard? I won't buy anymore!!!

    Food Budget alo £80.00

I also have a week off with a broken computer and boredom threatening to send me over the edge into spending... I have books - so maybe a restful week reading would be nice. All ideas welcome though!!!

Ok - enough excuses!!! Will go and post on the NSD board. OMG!

May the force be with us!!!

  • Well well well.... WELCOME to you all!! This post will be used to add more contenders should they prove brave enough.. I should have done this closer to the top but better late than never.....

  • ....3 days to go...

So now then... I am glad to meet you all and welcome to our only boy Abundant1972.....

Loopylou1 - well done for joining in, don't look so scared, this will be a lot of fun!!..Heffi1 I am super duper glad you could join us..( mwah ha ha ha ha...)..

And Siouxsie32 - ( my inspiration ).. welcome to you.. although I feel you might be the most hardened of us all?

Well I have been planning, listing and baking the day ( away after my nap off a night-shift of overtime ) in an effort to practise what I preach. I literally cleared out my cupboards, put everything on my kitchen table and made a list of what I have.
    • Bread being baked in the bread machine as we speak ..( landlady never uses it )..
    • 4 week old sprouting potatoes baked in chilli flakes and some crunchy bits I found festering in my cupboard.
    • Cupcakes to amuse me during the week currently cooling off - only half to be iced as I haven't enough icing sugar.
    • ...and leftover rice chilling in the fridge ( with cheese, mushroom soup for flavouring and an egg ) ready to be rolled in crushed cornflakes and fried.
    • Mr Mint plant who died whilst I was away for a week has been trimmed and watered.. he will grow I just need to be patient.

So I shall be onto my spreadsheet very soon. Today I had to buy milk and eggs to prepare some bits as I realised I was using my landladies milk a little too often...( buy a few and freeze them by the way )... I still intend to hit 3 more days of October as NSD's...

Abundant1972 - you are allowed your cider. Its just the "going to the pub" that will cost a lot of money, nights out etc .. but as its in your cupboard you know what you can do on your week off... "drunk book reviews".. yes I shall encourage you to stay in, read your books, then sell them them back to Amazon's Trade-In .. I just did that and got myself £44. However what day is your birthday so we can check-in???:T.. A broken computer is very annoying and certainly would find it hard to survive.. do you have a local library as their first hour is usually free?.. We will put our heads together for "week off" ideas..

So I hope you all have spreadsheets on the go... incidentally how much is everyones food budget..?? This is where I might go mental by the way. I LOVE MY FOOD!!!...:)

Uh Oh what have I done? :o

My food budget for the month is usually £300,but I intend to reduce this, the cupboards are full so apart from milk and bread and maybe a few more fresh veg I hope not to spend anywhere near that amount.

I have made dinner this evening, pork chops with roast veg and gravy yummy, I feel I should be more adventurous so look out for some odd recipes I shall try out over the coming month :rotfl:

And a very warm welcome to our only fella, so far, unless you are lurking out there and didn't want to be the first bloke on here, Abundant has done the decent thing and signed up.
:) Been here for a long time and don't often post
