Yes thats right.
Pulled into a strange to me car park in the dark. See cameras and signs at a distance so get out within minutes and park on the street because I know I could be up to four hours. Park the other side of a public street to the car park for three and a half hours.
Twelve days after I get a bill threatening action and penalties if I don't pay.
How do I get this automated harrasment stopped immediately?
Premium rate numbers to phone them with automated answers so you never get to speak with someone who can make a decision and confirm no action. Don't trust they will respond or act on emails. All automated just like the cameras that can't tell the difference between street and car park. All for minimum cost, maximum margin and blow the harrasment to joe public trying to quite rightly go about his business without HARRASMENT.
FEAR THE ONLY END WILL BE TO LET IT ALL RUN ITS COURSE AND SUFFER THE HARRASMENT. Even then you will never know when its over.
Can't be allowed to continue. How about those who never realise or realised in the past they can't be charge for parking on that street? Can't believe I'm the first or will be the last. How many paid up just to stop the harrasment?
The guy who thinks he has this automated money printing machine running like clockwork needs a serious wake up call.

Chill out and read a few posts on this board.
This is an unenforceable, speculative invoice that can be safely ignored.Ethical moneysaver0 -
Sorry, the computers running windows ME tried to do an illegal operation and had to close down.
Ignore them, they are as useful as an umbrella on mount Washington during the windy part0 -

I read the lot and more on other forums before posting. Hence my fear the only way out for me is to let it run its full harrasing course. Which might take the best part of the next six months - I would never know its end.
Seems so unfair considering I never had the service they are billing and hassling me over.
The regulations let them run this scam without having to answer to anyone. Can't be right.
Clamping and towing were both labour intensive, physical, visible and deliberate antagonistic restrictions on your freedom. At least there was real human presence keeping errors down.
Easy to avoid - Just never stop and do business where ever there was a sign threatening either.
This new method is invisible and deliberate psychological torture. No human presence with such easy scope for error. Nothing built into the system to stop it following you off the managed area. And because its invisible and face less no measure to know how frequently this happens. Appaling violation of our human rights.
Can't be avoided - even when you do read their signs and take your business somewhere else. Perhaps we need to carry covers for our registration plates. Just in case Parking Lie is watching.
I for one will never enter a car park or area where such systems operate. Thats all operators. Someone who gets out and about a fair ammount might have continuous threats hanging over them for the rest of their life.
There must be an authority to take this to immediately so it stops. Self regulation of extortion and where there is an incentive to fit as many people up as possible (legitimately or by mistake) is not the way to do things. Its doomed.
Anyone know who that authority is?0 -
Hi, I parked and never saw the sign until I got back to the car, I phoned the council and they told me I had to pay. I emailed the company to fight my case, they emailed me back. What I'm trying to say is, do email them as they will respond. Make sure you give them all your details, you have a case because you didn't stay0

Why worry, don't bother to waste your time and money on them, ignoring is a lot cheaper and very effective. Should they ever try to do court (never ) come back.Till then relax.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

... email them as they will respond. Make sure you give them all your details, you have a case because you didn't stay
I know I have a case. Problem is so will everyone else who emails them. All you do by responding is help them build their case by confirming you were there. I'm very certain they will respond. With a reminder that you owe them some money and the noose is tightening as the cost and risk to my good name rises. Despite pictures and all the technology its just my word against their technology. No way are they going to admit its flawed as opens the flood gates for us all to challenge on the same or similar grounds. Their flawed technology (probably bought on a loan) will never get paid off and they will go bust. Hardly think they are going to entertain that.
Need a few more examples like mine and the law should close them all down until such time they can prove the sysytems do not hassle folk for nothing. Which they can not. If they did this by following you down the street or knocking on your door pestering you for money you did not owe, they would soon be arrested and taken off the street. After that and not so many more repeat offences they would soon be up in court facing a judge. Only the fact it's invisible and a closed system running in "big brother world" that they are getting away with this.
They are not operating a deterent so that legitimate people can find space to park and go about their business. They are using that as cover while running an organised high tech scheme which by fair means or foul tricks you into parting with your money. Only this keeps them fed, their mortgage paid, the kids at private school and running round in a flashy motor. Watch you don't get "techno robbed" by these confidence trick outfits. !!!!!! Turpin was a saint compared to this lot.0 -
, I phoned the council and they told me I had to pay... I emailed the company to fight my case, they emailed me back.
These two statements conflict. I have every certainty that you are being honest, it's just that the council isn't a "company". Which of the two entities issued your ticket? The company for a private matter over which you contacted the council? Or did you merely refer to the private firm as "council"? Or is it the other way round whereby you called the council a "company" in error?0 -

At least now it's just a load of letters which are easily ignored. You are taking them too seriously, as if they actually have a case they could pursue. They don't.sharealike wrote: »I for one will never enter a car park or area where such systems operate. Thats all operators. BTW, what is the actual "offence" alleged on the PE ticket? Seems you were in a free car park for just a few minutes.0 -

What is it Parking Eye are alleging then , that you were there more than two hours , even when you weren't ?
If you weren't there then how exactly do you think they can do anything to you ...just ignore them
Strange case though you seem to be implying that the PE camera points at the street and therefore issues tickets to those not in the car park ..surely that can't be right ?
Have I misunderstood you ?0 -

Ooh I don't know! I think we can get around this!
Harassment is illegal. I don't personally follow the routes for precisely the reason I am not harassed by PPCs. As such, if an investigation were to happen, I would have a hard task proving that I was tormented by the threats of ParkingEye when I have a drawer full of their fake invoices dating back two years. They usually back down after a third document, all delivered witin 28 days of the alleged incident.
But here is a good idea. If you wanted to clamp down on harassment, you'll need to write to them once with the essential statements, "I deny your claim as the amount is unlawful" and "if you believe me to have a debt, I invite you to take the matter to adjudication". You are now in the clear for if they tried court as you may not be cross-examined as to why you ignored the threats, the judge will already know this before a hearing.
Now since I know ParkingEye back down after the third letter, it won't go further. But supposing one day you encounter a company that likes to run its six-letter course over the same number of months, it is here that you are best-placed to have them for harassment. Very simply, each time you receive a single letter after making your position known in no uncertain terms, you are justified in claiming harassment. Just report it to Trading Standard and let them do as they deem fit. Now it may be that they don't act, HOWEVER, if the case were to go to court and let's say the PPC had a dumb judge who cannot distinguish "penalty" from "loss", let's see how well the landowner fares when you reveal evidence of the harassment complaints mounted against him.0
