I tried to order 3 innotabs online today it said 'you have exceeded the maximum alloed for this item' I assume they have capped the amount you can buy as it is such a popular item?

It let me have two and a lego train!

I am going to the store tomorrow so might try it in there?
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.
  • Funnily enough tesco have just removed the Facebook comment of skylanders being 3 for 2 luckily this time I have a screen shot.

The helpline person suggested that I can have another item of equal value (but I don't want anything else) or wait for the Lego set to come back into stock and re-order it and then ring up for a refund on it. I'm not keen on this option as I can just see the whole thing happening again and Tesco will have taken yet more of my money.

Hi this is exactly what is was told to do, however they did say that I would need to reorder the item (a lone Furby) within the 3 for 2 offer period to be 100% sure of a refund on this 'third' item. I duly ordered Mr Furby twice the following day after refreshing the Tesco site for stock throughout the day, both automaticlly cancelled after about 3 hours as oos. They do not actually 'take' the money at this stage but put it on reserve and it is automatically re-credited to you after about 48hrs (this is what I was told), but it would be unavailable to you if you were relying on it (sometimes having a hardly used credit card comes in handy). I then switched to an online stock checker and I found that it showed the item in stock before the Tesco site did, when you simply search the item it was saying unavailable however clicking on the item allowed you to purchase, I since ordered the last of the 3 for 2 deal this morning and it all seems okay. I do feel sorry for the direct line call staff, I am sure they would love to have a system sitting behind them that actually worked at times like this, they were nothing but helpful for me, but I will hold judgement until I ring for the refund on the 'third' item - I am going to wait until I have collected as I can just see my refund showing up on the system and then it being returned/resold thinking I have cancelled the order.

If all else fails will wait for the ‘double points’ to kick in. It’s not like the Furby is out of stock everywhere, like previous pre-xmas items.
