You seem very sure that they won't care - do you work for Tesco?

Or maybe they are investigating the issue? I did ask them whether it was standard policy across all stores.

    Time will tell.

Will they go along with a customer's polite request for a sealed game or just say no?

I don't see why they can't have some kind of a token that you take off the shelf and exchange for a brand spanking new sealed game.
Don't grow up. Its a trap!

Tesco don't HAVE to give a toss about individuals, they make enough profit and one slightly aggrieved customer with a complaint about something which is a non-issue. The game is brand spanking new, just not sealed, the reason for which is perfectly valid and ultimately if it's the choice between annoying a tiny minority who'll get nippy with it OR having thousands of games stolen to appease said tiny minority, you won't even get close to winning.

They are too busy dealing with loonies taking back things they have bought for no reason and trying to buy them back immediately for half the previous price.........

Taking off the wrapper is part of the fun of getting a new game especially if it is one you've waited for a long time.

You've never sniffed a brand new manual before, have you?

I've used shopto before and never had any issues either.

When buying games, I always look for the cheapest option from a company that is well known, on or offline.

I'm not normally that fussed about new releases, so don't mind waiting a few days.

If I was buying something like a game or dvd as a gift then I would want it to be sealed, otherwise how is the recipient to know it's not a secondhand copy?

Not going to reply to anyone who doesn't understand where I'm coming from with this because I don't have the time, the will or the inclination.

However I promised to update when I got a reply and so I am. It was not terribly satisfactory as it isn't an answer but here it is...

Ooh, I've had an email from her before. She gave me a £20 gift card for a fouled up online order that I couldn't use online.
