Small Tesco PS3 game vent and question

Thanks for the thoughts folks. I mainly do buy games online especially if it is a title I'm not too fussed about and want to check real user reviews before I buy.
Here I am specifically talking about games I really want on launch day and you can't always guarantee that the likes of Amazon will get it there on time - they didn't with Skyrim for example.
I will ask about reserving a wrapped copy of Hitman next month but if they aren't willing to play ball then I'll buy elsewhere. Asda have good prices sometimes and are about the same distance away. Mind you I tried them for Resi6 but they didn't have any Ps3 ones on launch day.
Shopto.net! Seriously!
Every game I've ordered has been with me three days before launch at worst.
The only exception was Arkham City, which I ordered at 7:30pm the day before it came out. It was dispatched within 2 mins (they do this neat thing where they send you a txt message with an image of your parcel being shipped) and arrived on launch.
If they do miss the launch date, they have a compensation scheme.0 -
Thanks for that Vyle but I've Googled Shopto.net and some of the comments are less than glowing. I'm fairly wary of ordering from anyone (except Amazon) which does not have a High Street presence. But that's just me. It isn't a major deal and here are probably only 3ish games a year that I'm desperate to have on launch day.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

I've emailed Tesco anyway to see if there's a way round it. Will post when I get a result.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

pretty sure my local asda guts them too unless its on launch night/day when they just usually have a massive stack of them behind the desk. If you want it that desparatly then my local store does midnight release, maybe see if your local asda does too.0

If you order form tesco.com then they send you a release on release day, and it comes shrink wrapped, and you can usually get a bit of a discount if you pre-order

I can also vouch for ShopTo.net
If I ever want a game bang on release date - which is increasingly less often nowadays - i'll use these guys. They have ALWAYS got the game to me BEFORE the release date.0 -
Thanks folks.
No reply except the acknowledgement from Tesco. Will post again when they reply.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

One thing to remember is the old 10:1 ratio of retail
10 people have good service they might tell one person between them. If one person has bad service, they'll usually tell at least 10 people. That's how online reviews work.... nobody reviews when they have good service, but if they've had bad luck, they'll tell everyone.
I started using shoptop when I bought Bioshock, and haven't used anyone else since unless I want an obscure game second hand.0 -

Yes that's a really good point Vyle. Some of the negative comments were about card fraud though and recently the website not working as it should. I don't think I buy enough games to warrant taking a chance. I probably only buy 5 or 6 new releases every year and a handful of second hand ones.
No reply from Tesco today. They obviously couldn't care less.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

They gave you the answer first time, they are trying to stop people nicking the games and costing them money, and no, they won't care0
