:j :j Hi all - just found a free five mins - DH finally went out to do a quote. He said he was going to do it this morning but because I made Weetabix brownies (((hugs))) Amie!)- he decided to hang around to test them. I found some Belgian cooking choc in the Co-op - mmmm!
Weather is fantastic - second lot of washing blowing away in the breeze - oh, I just love being able to hang the washing outside! Had to go shopping today although I didn't think I needed to but I was low on printer paper and I need plenty these days for printing off recipes and tips, etc (and, of course, Smoky's brilliant pics). The last time I bought some, Sainsbury's had it on BOGOF but today it was £4.49 for one packet! Not very MSE so I hunted around and found two packets for a fiver in Martin's Newsagents. Then I just HAD to call into the charity shop and found another book about aromatherapy which I am just beginning to get into. The books in that shop are BOGOF as well so I picked up a Star Wars book for my DGS and some interesting looking chinese musical balls (the mind boggles - I haven't read the instructions yet!)
Kittie - I know what you mean - all of a sudden the days of potty-training and terrible twos have disappeared and I don't know how it happened so quickly. I still find that at about 3.15 p.m. I'm thinking ' they'll be home from school soon' and my youngest is 25 years old now! Old habits die hard! Both my boys have homes of their own, cars, jobs - in fact, they exist almost without me! How did that happen? You will so enjoy being a grandmother - I have a GDS and a GDD and I love it. It's a special kind of relationship and, for me, it's been like falling in love all over again! They certainly keep me young and in touch!
Have already welcomed today's first newbie, oldMcdonald, and welcome also to JennyWren and Princess81.
Good luck with the househunting CC and good health to all those who have been suffering lately. Oh, have a great holiday, too!
Mrs Mix - I hope the waiting list isn't too long for your DD - (((hugs))) to her - and you, of course.
Well, I need another cuppa then it's a quick look round the garden. Some of next door's lovely clematis has wound itself around my very tall oleander and the flowers are just beginning to open - it looks lovely. I still have loads of camellia flowers - this area is very camellia-friendly - one white and the other bright pink, the forsythia has gone mad all of a sudden and I have two blackbird pairs nesting and blue-tits in my nesting box. I was given the box as a present a couple of years ago and OH put it up but it hasn't ever been used - thing is, it had a little perch on it and I told him that blue-tits won't nest in a box with a perch because they don't like other birds being able to get at the nest so, just after Christmas, I asked him to saw it off (the perch, I mean!) and now it has its first residents! I'm so pleased. In our last house, there was an old nesting-box that was used every year and one year we actually saw the babies leave the nest. My bird book says that, once they leave, they never go back in, so I felt really honoured to have witnessed it. Sometimes, it's the smallest things that give the most pleasure and, what with this lovely weather and the wildlife on our doorsteps and everything starting to bloom, it's a wonderful time of year. I feel a song coming on ...'Oh, what a beautiful morning, Oh what a................' well, you know what I mean!
Haven't I rambled on? I've got loads to do really but I'll get on with it tomorrow. I have to put the spare room back together now that my visitors have gone and I still haven't done my menu plan and I've loads of paperwork as well. But, hey, it's ME time and we're all entitled to that, aren't we?
Happy rest of the afternoon to you all!:T :T :TKNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Afternoon all, hope you are all well, hugs to those who aren't and welcome to the newbies!
Well it was the last straw this morning, DPup is moving to my parents place this weekend and then it's on with our mission to get the painting, carpeting and new lino in this flat so we can put it up for sale as soon as possible. I hate living where I do with all these entitlement idiots around and we can't wait to move to a nice, family orientated estate, in a house with a garden! Then DPup can move back in with us. I'm going to miss him, but we'll prob see him every other week or so, he'll only be an hour away if I need a cuddle.
I have a nice bath waiting for me so am going to have that soon, hopefully it'll ease the muscle pain.
Not sure what we are having for dinner tonight but am sure I can come up with something, we had a really trashy combo of foods last night, followed by Angel Delight... I heard that they are bringing one out with fewer additives etc at the end of the month! Can't wait for that!
Right, am off to have a nose at lino online, put DPup in his room for his afternoon nap and then jump in the bath (hm, like I can manage jumping!! Lol)
Have a great day xx

Morning   (well I wish it was then I may get this desk sorted before tonight:rolleyes: )
Just a very quick post from me as I am literally drowning under paper for my tax and vat returns. I really do wish the pain of this would stick with me a little so that I would do it in smaller chunks over the quarter but no:o Maybe a glass of vino would help the process - is it dark anywhere in the world yet
I know some of you watch it (whilst you are OSing of course ) so a girl I used to work with appeared on Jeremy Kyle this morning:D    She was a horrible bully to me whilst I was learning a job that I was actually only doing as a favour to the boss who is a friend:o Anyway there she was this morning on a feature about dealing with anger - to be honest Jeremy was really nice to her but if he had been on the other side of her vitreol (sp?) I doubt that would have been the same. Anyway good she is getting it sorted I guess - anger can be very nasty to the body in the long term.
On a really lovely note - I met up with Lucie for a coffee today (my great escape from the shredder:o ) and what a lovely person - planning a lunch with our TM which I doubt will be homemade and I guarantuee will include wine - dark or not:rotfl:
Anyway hugs to all and welcome to all the new faces:T

everyone.
Well I have been a busy bee today. Whole house clean and tidy, Hall stripped, scrubbed and cleaned. Under the stairs stripped out, sorted tidy and clean.
I have made a rice salad for tea with home made coleslaw (snap AMIE) and just need to cook off the spring rolls later.
The kids clothes will need a wash along with some other washing I have generated and that can go out on the line later.
The coronary nurse has phoned and she has gone one better and organised a meeting with the consultant at the hospital on Tuesday so that we can discuss things fully with him and hopefully this will help to clarify matters and we can now find out what further treatment they propose. The meds now are only holding the symptoms at bay and who knows what will happen as the dose reduces.
jennywren and Princess 81 hope you like it here.:D
AMIE ........................
Look out for the local wildlife while you are in the garden :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
mioliere, you can right click and save the piccies on your computer if you want to and then re-use them, it's how I gather them up from other sites
to csarina, tru, CCStar and all else in need.
See you,
Smoky. xxxxIf you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb
