Peem - Well done on potty training your DD :T - I remember it well  You are right, of course, they will only do it when they're ready

Well another day at work, DD has gone shopping for the day with MIL and when she returns she'll be bringing their dog home - we're looking after it till Monday
I am slowly but surely catching up on my ironing, I have a new system, iron as soon as the wash load is dry and then put it away (I bet that's what most normal people do anyway
). As for the rest of the stuff I'm chipping away at it - nearly done (well I'm expecting to be completed by Christmas :rotfl: )
Didn't have any tea last night in the end
so Chicken Enchiladas tonight (yum yum)
Hope everyone has a great daySquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Hello everyone

Can I please join in? I only discovered the regular daily thread yesterday - goodness knows why as it seems to have been going on for some time!
I've already done the weekly shop this morning, I hate crowded places and prefer to get to ASDA at about 7am - there are only a few people there, you can whizz through the checkout.......fantastic!!
Plans for the rest of the day:
Spend a couple of hours at the allotment this morning - I still have a bed that is in desperate need of de-nettleing. Will take older 2 children and get them to take the young leaves off before I start to dig them up (nettles not children!! - Must remember to bring some rubber gloves for them) The nettles will be made in to soup for tonight.
Got BM on, so loaf will be ready for lunch-time.
Also got a load in the washer, so will get that out on the line before we go to the allotment.
This afternoon I have to get some seeds planted at home, so hope I can also get one or two of the kids to help with this. Looks like a lot of us are making the most of the fantastic weather in our gardens today
The sun is already warm here and the temp is already reading 12c.
Have a lovely day, everyone0 -
Morning everyone :hello:
Haven't been around much this week, the weather has just been too nice and I've been out and about with the boys (Easter hols for pre-school etc too). I've missed reading everyone's news and my daily dose of OS inspiration though!
Feeling a bit wobbly this morning after a night out with the girls last night
Was really nice as it was my normal group of friends but we also invited along a couple of other mums we'd met at toddler groups etc who seemed to get on well with everyone and have a good time.
Not much OS-ing planned for today, we are going up to a local nature reserve with some friends, taking a nice HM picnic and going to enjoy the weather. Later will be mopping the kitchen floor with my new microfibre mop. Then it's all downhill - we are going away tomorrow so probably going to treat ourselves to Special Fried Rice from the chinese tonight while we pack.
Hope everyone has a lovely day

Morning all,
Haven't posted for a couple of days as I've been on the road. We're now down in Oxford staying with my neice & her DH for two weeks. Lovely. Had a great day sightseeing yesterday and have earmarked a few things to do today. They live quite close to the centre so all walking distance. Warm, sunny weather so it's lovely out.
We are going for a boat ride today on the canal. DH will use the stick of course while I sit back and relax.
Posted bunny off yesterday to DGS.
Hope you all have a lovely day. ByeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Morning all
Mrs_mix – sorry to hear you are not well, hope things improve for you.
My partner and I were just back in w**k yesterday. Over here in NI we tend to w**k Good Friday and get off Easter Mon and Tues. We had a nice break, enjoyed a great walk on Sunday and of course I was delighted with the ManU 7-Up show on Tues evening.
Both my mother and were very poorly in the week before Easter, picking up a nasty spot of food poisoning after a meal out on my partner’s birthday. We are both OK now. I have complained to the restaurant.
Well, it is a short week in w**k anyway. The weekend is in sight already.
Hope everyone has a good day

everyone, plenty of this needed today as I stayed up far to late chatting and looking for piccies from various sites:rolleyes:
Plans for today - A quick shower, top to bottom dust, tidy and hoover. Spring clean the hall and under the stairs, catch up with the ironing and get the current wash out on the line. I also need to try and get in to work today for a natter.
OH is going to look for bait for some fishing and is also looking to start planting some of the seedlings.
He's also talking fence repair, prefering to do it himself:mad:
to everyone who needs one today, esp. Mrs Mix.
See you all later,
Smoky. xxxx

Good Morning
I just read yesterdays thread - seems like everyone is unhappy at work. It's a horrid feeling being trapped and I know when I leave I'll wish I'd left earlier but I'm going to stick it out one more year then find something else. Last night I added up all the big bills and fees for the next 5 years. It'll take me 16 months to earn that so that is my leaving date - promise. By then it'll only be 2 years till DH gets pension.
All the talk of gardening has me itching to get out there. The wooden greenhouse is all spick and span and coated with preservative but there is not a plant inside it - indicitve of my stupid job!! By now it is normally full to bursting. Also first year for 25 years I've done nothing with the allotment. I know I can't do everything but I find I'm only having time for the things I hate eg w**k and none of the things I love eg house/garden. Oh well, 230 day to go
Have a lovely day everyone - happy gardeningDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Hello everyone!! Long time no see, well a week:rotfl: :rotfl: Had an accident with my laptop a week ago, the courier delivered it back about half an hour ago, so the first thing I did was log on here:D
I've had withdrawal symptons! Wouldn't you know we'd given the "main" computer away the day before I dropped the laptop?
Haven't managed to read any old dailies, just today's so apologies if I've missed anything important. Might try to go back if I get time later;)
Aussie, glad you're having a good time, hadn't missed you, I've not been here:p
scuzz what lovely news!! :j :j You have a great time, after the year you've had you thoroughly deserve it:T
Boyfriend is working out well eh;)
welcome to oldMcDonald! Hope you like it here!
Well we had a great Easter, but it went very quickly! Lot's of Church services, this really is my favourite time of the Church year. On Good Friday we went to my nieces house for a BBQ with lots of extended family. Was brilliant, about 18 children and 12 adults :T :T So much fun, and great to be all together again (and I didn't have to cook, yay!!) Old news but I wanted to share that.
Well you'd think that without the computer I'd have got loads done and be all up to date wouldn't you? Couldn't be further from the truth, I've actually spent hours catching up with my reading
Churchmouse:o . As I'm out for the day tomorrow, best get and do something today. Wish I'd known laptop was being returned today, I'd have done it yesterday!
Tomorrow is a girly day out with my Sis-in-law, neices and great neices, doing lunch and shopping for one great neice's birthday. My sis-in-law is the sister I never had, and my neices are like surrogate daughters who include me in everything, so bliss:D
Hope you all have good days, (((((hugs))))) to those sad, struggling or poorly.

Hi everyone,
JCR16 I was shocked to read that you were at a children's party where everyone was smoking - was nobody concerned about the passive smoke the children were taking in!
Welcome to old McDonald.
Tired today - DH didn't get in until 3.45 from Liverpool (200 miles) and I had a fairly disturbed night before that.
Tonight is DS last night at home before returning to Uni for his last eight weeks, mind you we've hardly seen him he's been out with his mates every evening. I've got him a few bits and pieces to take back including a meat loaf made from a recipe on Mr Badexample's thread. We had one at the weekend and he loved it so he's taking the extra one I made and froze to share with his gf.
Sorry I'm prattling very boringly so I'll slink away now.
