Seperate stickies for FB, TW, Email & WebYou can do it with multiple volunteers in a single thread (and make it a sticky) if you take care setting it up - see the previous Daily Index for an example where 3 volunteers split the workload in the first three posts.

It is totally feasible for a different volunteer to take responsibility for one (or more) of the sections.
PS. A single thread also makes it more likely that a comp poster would find the correct place to post the link to their comp.
I didn't realise more than one person could have access to a thread, that would be a great solution I think xxI love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

1 person does all ( seriously harsh)just a few thoughts if that's ok
separate stickies would take up most of the 1st page along with what we already have
if lots of people are going to be involved they would all have to commit to being available most days to update
if a comp had been added to say for eg the facebook section because that's where it was first mentioned, but when it opened it didn't need FB so would need moving that would involve pm'ing multiple people and hoping that when one updates the other does too as a comp might be removed from one thread before it's added to the other etc
but I can see this thread has been started because it is felt that it would be too much work for one person, however one person controlling it all would be the best solution if someone was happy to take it on, so would it be better to ask if there are any volunteers for the job of keeping it all in one thread, and if not try to find an alternative workable solution?I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. It is definitely a full time job for one to the point that they miss out on entering comps themselves as they are constantly updating the advent thread.
Don't think £1000000 would get fnc63 to take it on again this year! And hope he manages to enter loads & win loads of them this year, after his amazing job last year. And also the previous advent thread controllers as I was not around before last year but can imagine it was just has hard going for them.
While I am on here all day most days, due to children, pets, life and being a totally disorganised person, is no way I would be able to do it. Saying that am off to rainy Tenby tomorrow for a few days, where I am sure I shall freeze to death!

For me, I probably won't make much use of an advent thread, because I have my own dailies template that I add to as I'm trawling through the main comps board. What if, instead of having someone sacrifice so much time to run the whole thing, peeps did the same as me and each made up their own dailies document?
It's so easy. When I see a daily comp I want to do, I copy and paste the thread title, the MSE thread link and the comp link. I put them in date order, cos I'm a bit OCD like that, then every day I just work through my own list - simples!
We could still have an advent thread, perhaps in Comp Chat Corner, to chat about all the advents, but all the comps would be posted in the normal way in the main comp board.I am brave, I am bruised

This is why I voted for 'No Advent Thread'. I go through the boards each day and any Dailies that I fancy I bookmark into a Dailies folder. There is only a problem when they're not clearly marked in the title as Dailies.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams
