Perhaps edit your original post and add in the date and flight number and see if someone else finds your post via a google search.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

After 'Compensation claim for delayed flight' at the top add a hyphen and insert Notice before Action.
Instead of 'I look forward to hearing from you...' insert:
'Should my claim not be settled in full or you do not respond with a full valid defence to my claim within 14 days of the date of this letter, I reserve the right to commence legal proceedings without further notice'.
This should be posted first class snail mail to the registered offices of the airline FAO The Company Secretary. Make sure you obtain (free) proof of postage at the PO counter.
Thanks again Centipede my wife and I really appreciate your help.
I will give it another week so then it has been a month and if I still haven't had a reply then I will proceed with the above. Do you think I should enclose copies of the original letters & Etickets? Also would the registered offices of BA be London Registered Office PO Box 365 Harmondswerth or Sudbury Suffolk where the original letters were sent?0 -

Cheers.
Shall I point out that I have already written to Sudbury & not received a reply, so they don't reply stating that I need to write to Sudbury as this is the address BA have given for the Eu compensation claim? I don't want them delaying things by starting a paper trail..0 -

Hi, I'm applying for compensation for a flight from London to Boston which was cancelled in 2010. We weren't put on an alternative flight for three days. When we were at London Heathrow the check-in staff tried to argue it was due to snow at Boston; however, as we were flying in to stay with friends in Boston we knew this wasn't true and, indeed, later on a check-in girl let slip that the plane was "in the wrong place" and weather had nothing to do with it.
However, as I assume the airline will argue that weather was the cause, I am wondering whether there is anywhere I can go to look up the actual cause of the flight being cancelled? I seem to remember reading about a website once which gave this information, but can't now find it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.0 -
I snet my letter exactly 14 days ago and received no reply....should I move onto the CAA letter that Martin suggest now do yu think?DON'T GET EXCITED ABOUT THIS!
The crux of this is that even if an airline is at fault for a long delay, they are not going to openly admit fault and pay out because the regulatory authorities do not have enough teeth to make them do so.
Airlines are also not frightened of small claims court threats because their lawyers have advised them of how to make the best of the procedure to avoid a case going to a hearing.
This isn't a windfall that journalists perceive it is going to be.
Journalists should be focusing on how inadequate the enforcement of legislation is and why the regulators don't have enough teeth for enforcement.
