Good luck
Not sure what you mean by "big case" if its the announcement of the test case then it doesn't affect credit card claims.
Try the number above as the Litigation Dept seem to be helping people out.0 -
Provider: Barclaycard
Amount Reclaimed: £697.92
Amount they paid: £697.92
The story: It took till the eve of the court claim filing date for them to give, but I spoke to a really pleasant gentleman and he said that yes they were willing to cough up the cash, he's transferred the money to my current acount and I'm one happy bunny! Hi Folks,
Just a bit of info on my barclaycard claim. I was trying to claim £500 from barclaycard but they fought tooth and nail and wouldnt budge after offering £170 (and paying it into my account without me accepting!).
I ended up using MCOL and they even entered a defence! I decided to try one last time explaining that it would not be financially viable for them to go to court and also that i would win by default if they didint show up.
I received a letter offering the full amount i was after including court costs full and final settlement in a gesture of 'goodwill'.
Just goes to show that it really is worth fighting on if you're not happy with their offer. Don't let them scare you into submission!0 -

Hi, last year i asked barclaycard for 1164.00. After some wrangling they wrote to tell me they had credited my card with 467.00. I did write to them to say i would accept this as partial offer but wanted the rest. This was last march, Now since then i have been going through a divorce and have not had time to go any further with it till now. Do you think i am too late to still ask for balance or do MCOl. I have paid my credid card bill on time since then. But 600 is a lot to lose. Or should i just call it a day now. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you and a happy new year to allthe lovely peeps on here. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxNight Owl Member No 1 :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'd better close the MCOL claim against them I suppose but the MCOL site is offline at the moment

17th December 2007 Claim was issued against Barclaycard
19th December 2007 Barclaycard acknowledge service has been filed and that they intend to defend the claim in total
7th January 2008 spoke with Barclaycard Litigation team who said they would look at the file and contact me 'in a couple of days time' with a decision (still waiting on that one)
10th January 2008 received monthly Barclaycard statement which shows that all moneys claimed were actually reimbursed to me on the 6th December 2007!!
My bank account statement confirms the money arrived in my account on the 11th December 2007.
I am now firmly convinced that they haven't a clue what they are doing.
Suggestions as what to do next would be appreciated as the claim against them is still standing and i cant close the claim because B'card have said they intend to defend

I started claiming against both my Visa and Mastercard accounts ages ago and this now totals just over 2k with interest and court fees. Their litigation team offered me a third of this payment which I have refused as it is such a big difference of what I am claiming. They say that the figure offered is the total amount of charges their accounts say I am owed less the refund already issued. I asked if this related to both accounts or just one and was told the Barclays account - they are both Barclaycard!! The claim is at court stage, although stayed, and they have had the list of charges since the beginning of the claim!! Their Lit team say that I need to prove the charges to them otherwise they will let it get settled in court. I have now sent them a copy of the charges.
