    Hi,
    I went through the same with Barclaycard...Had to go through the procedure on Moneyclaim online. I recieved a letter 2 wks ago from Barclays saying they do not accept liability or admit they are in the wrong however they are willing to settle full and final inc court costs and 8% interest!
    Hang in there they will settle
  • I sent a Postal Order and DPA letter over 2 weeks ago by recorded delivery, but the royalmail 'track & trace' has no record of it. The address I used was a PO Box number in Muswell Hill, so I wondered how these deliveries are acknowledged. Should I be worried?
  • I settled a barclaycard account through Cabot, who I believe are their debt collectors or something, but wonder if I can still claim charges on this account?

    All my claims (bar one) are against closed accounts. All the credit cards and 1 of the bank accounts had been passed to debt collectors and I had already cleared these.

    You have the same rights as anyone else claiming besides their charges probably compounded your situation and caused it to go out for collection.

    Personally I don't intend to settle for anything less than 80% and hopefully more in the region of 150% on the ones that have forced me to take it to court! ;)
    Got It & Spent It :dance:
    IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)
    MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)
    I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)
    CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)
    BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)
    On Hold :mad:
    A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)
    BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)
    BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)
    ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)
  • I have just had a reply from Barclaycard, Im claiming back £288 plus £53.83 interest. Total of £341.83.
    However they have offered me £144 (the difference above the £12 without interest) Is this all im entitled to or am I entitled to all the charge? Should i accept the offer or go for the full amount?

    Can anyone give me advice on the above<!-- / message -->

    Credit card companies like to quote the Ombudsman's decision about £12 per charge. However, this is only a recommendation, and they usually pay up in full once you file a court claim.
    Reclaimed thanks to this site:
    £175 Abbey Mortgage Repayment Fee, £170.03 Capital One Bank Charges £418.07 Lloyds TSB Bank Charges, £2,671.55 Mis-sold Endowment Policy, all for OH

    Try putting this in your rejection letter..

    Thank you for your offer to repay the difference between your original charges and the £12 bar set by the OFT. However, I still feel that £12 is an excessive charge amount and still remains unlawful as I do not believe it reflects the true cost to BarclayCard for administering late payment, over limit, or out of order charges.

    Not sure about MCOL as I am in Scotland and claiming is different here.

    Cant you do it through your local court? Or you could go through the Financial Ombudsman which is free.
