  • Hi, I sent first letter off asking for my statements on the 4th April and today i have only got some of them, with a letter saying the following

Enlcosed you will find copies of you credit card statements from June 2004, the rest of my statements are stored on computer, we will be sending your statemnets prior to this date later. These later statements are stored on microfilm and take more time to search and reprduce, we will get this information to you as soon as we can this is likely to be within 6 weeks or so.

Statement requests are being processed in order in which they have been received. The information Comminssioner is also aware

What should i do next? please help

You can complain to the Information Commissioner at any delay and join the thousands of others who have done so and are still waiting for their statements despite complaint. OR you can wait for your statements.

Personally I would do both :)

Hi all just a quick question, I sent for my statements from Barclaycard and recieved them within 10 days .It is an account I closed in 2005 and they sent me them and didnt cash the cheque. Now do I use the same letter as the bank charges letter or is there a different type to send ?

    Thanks

p.s Ive totted up the late fees/over limit fees ,now can you add the interest or do cards work different from bank accounts ?

    Hi.
There is a formula on the consumer action group website, but his way I use, bit long winded but is 99%accurate.

" " The amount of days from the charge to the day you adding the money (figure A)

    Charge eg £30.00 (figure B)

Each £1.00 per day is equal to 0.0002p interest at 8% 0.0002 = figure C

    figure c x figure b x figure a = interest owed.

    Example charge

£30.00 charge, 100 days gone by
    0.0002 x 30 x 100 = £0.06

If you do it as a speadsheet, works bit easier.

    Good luck

    Cheryl

 Hi all claiming back some charges on my barclaycard account (about £150) went though the MCOL process and they have just put in a defence:sad: . They sent me a letter a while back crediting my 'closed' account with a good will gesture, so i rang the bank and refused the offer and told them i had no access to the money as the account was closed 6 months ago. I have'nt accepted the money so can i still claim the full amount, any advice

As long as you turnded down the money you can gofor tehfull amount, it seems to be standard procedure forBarclaycard to put in a defence, Ive gone down the same route, got a court hearing in July.
    Good luck

more scare tactics from Barclaycard - after they refunded the difference between their charges and the £12 OFT fee, they reduced my credit limit on my credit card. I then made a claim at my local county court for the rest of the amount I tried to claim, they filed a defence and I recently returned the forms, waiting for a court date. In the meantime, they sent me a letter today where they are not allowing me to withdraw cash in the UK for at least the next 6 months....

...but still I will continue, they're not scaring me lol

Have just had a letter from Barclaycard explaining they will give me a refund of £144.00 as a gesture of goodwill and without any admission of of liability ! I have now writen a letter back stating l could`nt accept their offer but would be willing to accept an offer of £300.00 as a gesture of goodwill !!. My original amount was for £360.00 but this is the first time l have had a letter back (after just sending the first letter) with any sort of offer. I`m still waiting ti hear from my second Barclaycard account and am busy taking LloydsTSB to court for 1 account need to save the money for the second account cause Lloyds play hard ball !!

Its not just you .... they are sending that letter out to plenty.. just seems to be people claiming back charges though, although they denied this on the phone to me..
