Hi hope someone can help. I have received my statements from B/C today and added up my charges. WOW. £1016. Now the thing is i still have my card and would like to keep it for now. it is in credit. I had thought about ringing them and asking for half my charges back which would actually give me a nil balance. Are they apt to close accounts down. If they did then i would go for the whole bloomin lot including interest. I just wondered if anyone had any luck by ringing them. And yes i have been on this a while now and have had a thorough read of all posts. Thanks chicks, hope someone can advise. xxxxxxxxNight Owl Member No 1 :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just out of curiosity, what damages would you be claiming and how would prove them ?0 -

If just half the charges back reduce the account to nil I would want the lot back its your cash. As for whether or not they closed accounts, they might do this they might not, I've read it varies. You can always get another credit card0 -
should i send the £10 cheque now or wait till they reply and ask for it0

Just got a letter from barclaycard today telling me that they can only give me statements from 2004 to 2007 they say the rest is on microfilm and may take six weeks to get the rest to me. They also said because the statements are on microfilm they are not covered with the data protection act and do not have to give me them is this correct.0

No this is NOT correct.
Barclaycard have claimed the 'microfiche' story on many occasions, however an investigation by the Information Commisioner has concluded that their microfiche records are 'a relevant filing system' under the Data Protection Act. Therefore they MUST supply your requested data by law.
Take a look in the Barclaycard thread for posts from others who this has happened to.
Write a strongly worded letter demanding the full six years data.

Barclays have already had a ruling against them by the Information Commissioner who said that microfiche *IS* covered by the Data Protection Act in this instance. I would remind Barclays of this and insist they comply.
