    Hi all:D
I got a letter from cap one this morning dated 18th june07.saying that there charges were fair bla bla bla and as a goodwill gesture offered me £200 but my claim is for £680 without interest so wrote back telling them i will except the£200 as part payment , but want the rest of my money within 7 days otherwise going all the way to court.
Has anyone else done this and what was the outcome,
    Thanks .
They have been realy quick so far called to ask for statments sent them to me within a week free of charge , do you think i will get another offer or have to go to mcol.

    I've made a daft mistake.

Issued my claim with MCOL today. Have just noticed I've claimed back from 05 October 2000 (over 6 years). Was too eager entering all the charges from the statements they sent me!

Does anyone know where I stand now?

Does this invalidate my entire claim? Will the final payment (assuming I get that far) just be for the 6 years? Or do you think they won't notice!?

    Any views on this appreciated.

Phoned Capital One today as their 14 days before court action time is up to be told that the department that deals with that don't take phone calls and correspondance is only via post and was I aware this would affect my credit rating anyway.
Is this true to both statements (I don't think the credit rating part is?) and if not then does anybody have a number I can try phoning?

After posting this an offer has arrived today - £344 for a £1016 claim.
Is it worth phoning to try to increase the offer or would it be a waste of time and should I just proceed with the court letter?

Just proceed as they wont talk to you, I have tried. The department that deal with claims are not contactable by phone and will not return call so save the cost of the phone call and just send the court letter.

    Good Luck
