Hi there, im in the MCOL stage, ive worked out the interest as follows
on the £366 worth of charges using the calculator

    untitledxx9.jpg

does this look right? also they refunded me £88 a few weeks ago
as "good will" how do i take this into account, do i just deduct £88
from the total? (i would think the £88 refund will affect the interest
    calculations)

any help would be greatly appreciated please, im at the stage completing
    the MCOL claim.

    please advise :)

just checked my capital one account online - i am claiming a total of 1018 pound with court costs and interest.
online it says on the 1st of may they refunded credit balance of 705.97 although it shows as paid out!
then a finance charge refund of 222.04 paid in
and court cost credit of 80.00 paid in
    making my balance 716.00
    avalible to spend -minus -516.00!!
balance of my card was originally around 318.00.
am really confused by this, i thought they would clear my balance and send me a cheque for the rest. instead i now owe them more!
i have not had any letters to say they were refunding and also i do not have a card for this account as it expired and was told i could not be sent a new card until my account was upto date!
any ideas of waht to do?
has any one else had this?

  • I am currently going through the MCOL process with Capital one.

My claim is for £1700 inc Interest. They have until the 8th May to acknowledge the claim.

Can someone please advise do Capital one normally acknowledge the claim or do they acknowledge and then defend.

And what type of timescales does it take to reclaim the the money from Capital one once MCOL process has started????

thats when they debited a charge and refunded it, due to some problem from their end so £20 debit then £20 credit

does the intertest calculations look right to you though?

    thanks

I am sure it's correct but I don't think you need to put the £0 ones in - that might just confuse them.

I'm still waiting for my 6 years of statements to be sent, but I'd be interested to know what someone asked earlier, and that was:

If they come back with a response that they can't find the records for a closed account what exactly can we do about that?

Have people had more joy in getting statements sent by ringing them as well?

Capital one have just sent me a letter stating they have refunded charges, bringing my account into credit! so they will be sending a cheque for the rest within 14 days!
total claimed $1018. with court costs and intrest.
    thanks everyone!

They have 40 days to send them and I got mine in about 35 days at the end of April, I did ring them but I don't know if it did any good.
