Has anyone that has been promised a cheque for full amount of charges within 14 days from capital one actually received it? And was it within 14 days?

We received letter 3rd April (I realise we have had easter in between) but not had it yet.

Here! Received letter dated 29 March sometime beginning of April and cheque arrived on Saturday. And it was the full amount, so just hang in there and do not cancel the claim till you get the money! :)

    Can someone give me advice?

Did all my usual letters to Cap 1, they replied with the difference between £20 & £12 (£160.00 instead of £400 claimed). I sent letter back declining this offer and giving them a further 7 days to respond, received a reply and they are now sticking to their guns and still only offering £160.00.

My question is, should i now go the MCOL route or reply to this letter again declining the offer?

I was due to file last week, but thought i would give it a further week to see if i got a reply, which i did today (seven days late).

I also got another letter from them this morning (different dept) saying they are looking into my claim and sorry that you are unhappy (left not talking to right by the sounds of it).

    Help if anyone can. thanks

Start your court claim - they will only keep sending letters back and forward.

  • Hi have filed my 2 claims against Capital One this week. I was just wondering as one card is still open..(the other is in default...) and now that i accepted their first offer as a partial settlement.. which will actually almost clear the balance , will they cheekily send me a new card for the account???!!! Could be interesting!

    Hi
After they finally sent me my statements, I have heard nothing. The 14 days from my LBA is up today, wondering if a phone call may do any good?

If they acknowleged it that gives them 28 days from date served. You should have received a "Notice of Acknowlegement" from the court for this.Watch closely, Cap 1 put in a last minute defence for our claim to bide time, only to send us a cheque after that.

    Hi and thanks,

Online it says acknowleded 28/3/07 but i have not received anything in the post at all......I thought the acknowledgement was from the court saying they have received the claim form....

    Im still none the wiser?

No, the BANK acknowledges your claim and the court tell you about it. Maybe the letter got lost but it only tells you what you can also see online in your claim anyway.
