Received confirmation letter from FO that they are looking into my case and due to a sudden increase in complaints it may take a little longer than expected.
Who cares about the length of time? At least things are happening....0 -
Hi
Ive successfully reclaimed from Capital One before but I have got more after this charges which I would like to reclaim.
I sent off the 1st letter asking for the money back but they got back to me saying that because default sums have been settled through a previous claim that they will not allow it.
1.Capital One Master Card is a credit card isnt it? which means I can still go ahead & send the 2nd letter? The only thing is I cant find the template letter saying this
2.Can I still claim £12 charges?
3.Can I still claim if the amount owed is now with Debitas Legal Services?
Hope to hear from you.0 -

I have been given the above address by the specialist dept today.
They really are a funny company, Capital One. The number of different postcodes they seem to use, absolutely amazes me. The reply I got from Cap One, included the postcode;- NG2 3HX. The post office came up with NG2 3HA when I returned the acceptance letter, recorded delivery.0 -
I have just phoned them to ask for a list of all charges since I opened in my account in 2004 and they have said that they will send them to me in the post within the next 7-10 days. For my own reference I spoke to Raj at the time of posting this.
Hopefully they will send them out so I shall see what happens. If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -

I am currently in arrears with capital one but I am now being contacted by Debitas (I think that is what they are called) as they have sold the debt, but when I call the number out of hours it goes through to capital one????
Are Debitas just Capital one posing to be someone else
I owe them about a £1000, I paid £100 to capital one then they said some one would be in contact the Debtias call me all the time demanding, more payment when I just paid £100 this month towards the same debt, im avoiding calls at the moment, they seriously call about 4 times a day, cant take them as im at work all day so I can afford to pay off the debt!
But back to the point should I contact Capital One about charging back the charges or Debitas now?0 -

Contact Cap One re: your cc charges. If they fail to respond to your SAR simply contact the Info. Commissioners Office - http://www.ico.gov.uk.
If you accept the difference between the £12 charge the OFT advised 3 years ago, and the £20 Cap One were charging, you'll get a quick settlement. But you should consider sticking it out for a full refund.0 -
I have just received a letter today saying they need authorization for them to supply copies of charges. They say it's £3 per copy statement up to a maximum of £10.
Thing is if they charge my card £10 it might take me over my limit which will get another £12 charge... Could I claim that back??If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -

Damn! Got a letter from FO who have been dealing with my case for the last 3 months or so, Capital One feel that their charges are fair, but they'd rather settle than allow an investigation so they're willing to offer me £580 plus £60 interest hich gives a total offer of £640.
My claim is for £728, what the hell are Crap One up to? Is this another one of their stalling tactics, hoping that after 6 months we'll be so fed up we'll snatch up any offer they make us even if it does fall short?!
It does seem odd though, as my claim is made up of 520 charges from as far back as may 2003, I used Martin's interest calculator to work out £208.79 of interest, so why are they offering £580 in charges and only £60 in interest?
So frustrating, I'm going on holiday in 2 weeks and knew this settlement would arrive any time around now, so the fact that Ihaven't got my money and that this matter still isn't fully dealt with is a real kick in the teeth!
Has anyone else experienced this fromm Crapital One?
Thanks.0
