Don't suppose anyone has had any similar experiences? I think I should be able to claim around £300 back if I can get them to reply!
Had a letter from Barclaycard today saying they will offer me £32 against the £80 charges on my account from 2005Only went for the difference figure on this small one, but it's all good

I sent off my SAR request and received the information today. It came by Royal Mail Special Delivery - the only one of all the banks I've requested this info from, which I have to say I think should be the standard given the personal information that is sent. But that aside, I got a print out of all the transactions, including charges put on the account from when it opened in 1999. The covering letter they sent said that they had also sent "records of manual intervention" and a list of the terms used in the documentation.
The records of manual intervention are images of computer screen, running software I do not recognise (probably only recognisable by bank staff!!) Has any one else received this, and if so, do you understand any of it? And how does it demonstrate manual intervention? For example one of the screens shows transactions for December 2008 - the recent authorisations. Are they really trying to convince me that someone sits at a computer all day authorising every single transaction made by every single cardholder? However, now that I think of it, they did phone me in December to check I had actually made these purchases, as there had been no purchases made on this account for months. But then, that's not evidence of manual intervention in applying charges to my account, which is what I'm looking for! I can't see it here anywhere...... now I'm thinking it's not there because charges aren't applied manually! Would that be right?!

HI everyone
I've sent through the template letters as per the website, claim incl interest is for £1195.12 & Cap 1 have offered me £268 which I don't want to accept. Want some advice really - whether to go via FOS or court route.
If anyone filed through MCOL have you had to attend court or settled outwith.
any advice gratefullly received.

Hi
I just wanted to know. I went through the website in order to claim back my credit card fees from Capital one. I had two accounts with them and the total charges came to £294.00. The normal rate and the amount they were charging was a difference of £8. Capital one agreed to this and is offering to pay the difference in total coming to £90 on both accounts only.
I just wanted to know if you think I should accept this. Also can I asked them to give the interest from the difference.
They stated when I took up the contract of credit card I agreed to the charges
any helps and hints would be useful thanks0 -
hi, can i ask you as I am also claiming from capital one . Did you claim for the whole amount or the difference. Also how did u claim for the interest on the late fee difference or on the whole amount. As in terms full late fees they owed me £294 with the difference that they allowed to charge of £12 and they were charging me £20 comes to £100 they only offered me £80 no interest just the late fees difference refunded.
Btw theres a good thread on court on here very interesting and useful look through again0 -
If you have already did the letter 2 and been refused the full amount then take it to the Ombudsman. My friend did this with Capital One and got the full amount back - £850.
Good luck :beer:0 -
Got a result yesterday with Capital One. For months they have claimed the £32 offered to me was justified. SO I went to the Ombudsman about 8 weeks ago. Yesterday I got a letter offering £592 plus £90 interest amounting to all my charges I am reclaiming. Of course they don't accept liability or that they agree with my claim, but they are refunding me all the same.
Just go straight to Ombudsman. Capital One do not want to pay out £400 for an investigation each time!0 -
Hi,
I've claimed £638 from Capital One credit card - all my charges plus interest at 8%. They've come back offering £186 as charges over £12 plus £10 goodwill.
What experiences have peopple had with recovering all charges from Capital One via the courts or the ombudsman?
Obviously I'd like to get all the money, but if the chances of success are slim I'll probably accept their offer.0 -
Hi, I just got all my charges back from the FOS. It takes a couple of months, but Crap One buckled and paid plus interest. Oh, but did not accept liability! Go for it. Nothing to lose!0

Hi guys, This one is really annoying me now, cant get any straight answers from Capital one, as they are not based in the UK - basically my payment was 2 days late, they refunded my late fee but i am concered if they will send this information to the credit reference agencies. Its the first time it has happened. Any ideas? Not sure how the credit reference system works, I have registered on www.creditexpert.co.uk and my current score is 904, any help would be appreciated - Thanks.0
