don't know if this helps, just noticed in the bottom right corner of my letter there is a number, 13376/c1fsalet/0208. i'm guessing this is a standard letter, regarding fsa complaints drafted in feb 2008 from this, has anyone else recieved a letter like this?0

Hi there,
I've just got back over £250 from Capital One. Their letter will tell you that £96.00 is their final offer - this is brill news. Now go through to the Financial Ombudsman link and fill in the claim form (it's not as scary as it looks), you can tick the box that asks if you have had a final offer (you have) send it off and wait, to FO will contact you and tell you it processing your request and the delay will be lengthy, but hang on, mine didn't take that long and it was certainly worth waiting for. Capital One will eventually write to you, after being pushed by the Ombudsman and confirm the offer (another delaying taktik!!) but cheque arrives about a week later. I did it for both mine and my husbands Credit Card charges, the process was exactly the same for both!Don't give up, good luck :T0 -

Balls. I've just used the template letter to reject a first offer from Capital One. Posted it yesterday.
I've claimed £233 and they offered me £40!! Err, no thanks.
So is standing by their first offer their normal tactic? All the other claimed I've made the CC firms have caved straight after rejecting the first offer.
Do you normally have to go to the ombudsman with Capital One?0 -
hi militantconsumer, just thought i would let you know that i didn't have a default on my file from cap one. this debt wasn't even mentioned!!
thanks againi keep losing weight, but it just keeps on finding me!!!!!!:D0 -
I've sent two letters now to Capital One to request they send details of all charges using the standard letter from this website.
I had an account with them, which had about £20 balance on it, but when I moved house, the account got forgotten and a debt collection agency contacted me about a year later to say I owed £300ish.
Capital One have sent me the same standard reply now saying that they cannot locate my account details and to send details of all previous addresses so that they can find the information. I've sent this now twice and still get the same response
Any ideas what I should do now? They MUST have my details, I had an account with them, so why won't they give me the information?
Anyone else had this problem?
Any help would be appreciated!!!Twitter: @haddockman830
