Hi, basically I have been offered and accepted £374.00 from Capital One :j - received a cheque and paid it into my bank. However, I was told by my bank that the cheque has bounced because of insufficient funds  , what is going on!! I have been given the runaround yesterday by them and kept getting cut off. Finally I got through only by using my husband and his still active account - they have promised me a phone call on Monday with an answer. However, I was wondering what the next step would be for me - do I go to the FOS to reclaim this mutually agreed amount? Any advise would be greatfully received.0

hi
capital one bounced a cheque due to insufficient funds !!! wow this should be national news surely.
did they pay (try to pay) the total of your claim or was it a reduced amount? if it was reduced id reject the offer and take them to court for the whole amount.
i would not do anything further by phone and only comunicate with them by letter. the fact they attempted to pay shows their laibility.

I've claimed off Cap One - it was only when I did the court bit that they responded, as for Interest use the one on this site thats used for the Bank Charge Interest.
Do a search on the main site you will find it no problem0 -
may be worth sending a 2nd letter (recorded delivery- best wait til after the xmas rush..?), warning of court action, to show you've tried contacting them.. and maybe get some result before spending out on court fees..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
