I'm just about to send send off my request for my statements from Capital One.

I've seen a couple of addresses suggested:

    Legal Compliance Specialist
    Capital One Bank (Europe) plc
    Trent House
    Station street
    Nottingham
    NG2 3HX

    or

    Capital One Card Services
    P.O. Box 5283
    Nottingham
    NG2 3YJ

Which one should I use

Also, somebody said there was no need to send the cheque for £10, Capital One don't charge for sending out the statements. Is that correct?

    Many thanks :)

Thanks Kirsty! I'll give that a go later. Saves the cost of a stamp :T
  • Ok, so I'm a bit worried now - i wonder if I need to be ? I'm asking Cap.1 for all of my charges back, including the £12 ones. I've used all templates of this website including the text for the MCOL claim.

I've filed MCOL against Cap.1 to the tune of £488 + interest, it was served to them on the 1st August. Acknowledged on the 8th and now the claim status online states : "Defence
You are unable to take any further action online on this claim.

The Defendant disputes the whole amount you have claimed. Your claim cannot proceed online and will be transferred to the appropriate court for continuation. You will receive confirmation to where the claim has been transferred to shortly."

Now is this just standard response from Cap. 1, or am I going to have to go to Northampton to court ??

Has anybody else gotten to this stage ?

    Many thanks,

No, it's the standard response by MCOL when a defendant files a defence. It will be transferred to your local court.
  • I received my cheque yeterday from capital one for £648 after i declined there first pathetic offer for only £157, after filling my claim on MCOL, capital one refunded all of my money. All in all the whole process took me two months to get my money back.
    Bank charges Reclaim:
    Capital one (c/c) = Won - £687.00: 8/2008
    Cahoot C/A = £1300 pending until court case:rolleyes:
    Natwest (C/C) = Caliming £276 = won £276 Feb 09
    Baclaycard = Not Started-Cahoot (c/c) PPI Won £520

If the total fees I want to reclaim come to £400 and I want to add interest to this, do I just add 8%? (=£432)

On the Court Interest Calculator page (http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/credit-card-charges) if I enter the charge amount as £20, it calculates the interest as £4.60, which is actually 23% of £20... I don't understand why.

Any simple explanation on this much appreciated.

    Thanks

If you have a charge taken in 2002 then more interest will apply than the same charge taken in 2008 :)

You must enter them individually with the date it was taken for this to apply.

Having followed advise with regards to reclaiming charges levied against me by capital one. I have received an offer from them of mearly £186. The actual full amount including interest is £570. I rejected this offer first but have now recieved a reply saying that the offer is of £186 and no more and this is a "final " offer. Do i just accept this or do i take another form of action....
