    Dear all,

    Advice needed!!

I had a Capital 1 card in 2005/6. I defaulted on the card but had approxamatley £400 in charges added to the debt. It was reffered to a company called Lowell Portfolio. I have paid off all the debt to Lowell, and have written a letter to Lowell/Capital 1 asking them to remove the default notice as I never recieved the notice. Now I am wondering should I offer to offset the charges if they remove the default?

Please tell me what you think.

    Thank you for your help.

Hi a bit confused on what to do next sent all template letters to cap one and finally got a reply this morning offering 625.00 on a 2000.00 claim i am going to go through fos to get the rest, but do i sign the acceptance form as it says they will judge the complaint to have been dealt with if i sign it.Any advice would be welcomed.Sorry pound sign not working.

Don't sign the acceptance form . do your own letter
I am wrtiting to inform you that I accept the money you have offered as part payment "without prejudice", but that I intend to proceed with my claim for the full amount.
I am going through with a claim against Cap one with the FOS and they are trying to say I signed there acceptance letter as full and final payment. Asking FOS to send me this so called acceptance form.
So don't sign there form. do your own. Good luck it takes time but hold out.

    Hiya,
Have been forced to go the financial ombudsman with regards to a claim for £405 against Capital one. Does anyone know my chances of getting these charges back and also a timescale as to when I should hear from The FO??
    Cheers In Advance

I've also gone to the FO with CapOne.

From reading other posts on here it seems others have eventually been successful although take 3/4months. If you have a look at the Credit Card Success thread you can see some examples!

Fingers crossed for you (and me :D )
