  • Hey hey, well done you, see you didnt need to panic. I have been advised not to cancel mcol until you have the cheque and its cleared into your bank. I dont know if others have been tricked but anyway, I would suggest you do that. That is what I am going to do. Let us know when you have cheque, I will do the same - they will probably hang out for the whole 14 days.

Result  £900 in time for Christmas. Do I have to cancel my MoneyClaim.gov.uk request some how?<O:p</O:p

You should recieve a form to sign from the court, asking you to agree to close the case. If not, just write a letter, enclosing a copy to Capital One.

As suelumsden said, wait until the funds have cleared. Mine went into my account, but my friends were paid by cheque, and it took approx 10 days.

Have a great christmas with the money.

  • Hi,

I have a capital one credit card and i have missed one payment. now i have loads of charges and my limit was only £200.

I have about £40 so far in charges and i just cant afford to pay it. i hvae a one year old son and i just dont have enough money to pay more than the min payment every month.

I called capital one and they didnt want to help me at all, they just advised i kept paying the min payment, but my arguement was that they waould still apply moer charges every month for be over my limit.

Can any body help me? i really dont know what to do about this.
i cant afford to pay my bill and as they werent very helpful it makes me not want to pay this at all.

    thanks

Capital One are 1 of the easiest cards to claim from so pay what you can as long as its at least the minimum payment and then
follow the steps shown to claim back the charges.
Youll get them back but it will take probably 2-3 months.
  • Hi there

I have recently ask for my credit card Charges with capital One but they said they would put the money directly into my account as I have an outstanding balance. I am just wondering if they can send me a cheque instead of putting it into my account. They alraedy said no but don t really trust them.

    Thanks

    Stephen

Capital One will send info quickly, delay paying or offer very little, likely to go all the way to court then pay up. Go all the way with them and you should get full refund. Good Luck

As stated because you have an outstanding balance, money recieved will be offset against refunds. Don't you think it would be better to reduce the balance with the charges and try to clear them as soon as possible. Don't accept settlement figure with Capital One. Go for all charges and Capital One usually pay up if you push them, even if you have to go all the way to court

  • Hi all - a bit of advice please.

I have gone through the first 2 stages with capital one. I claimed about £460 and they offered £114, I wrote back saying it was unacceptable and yesterday they said they would not be refunding the whole lot and that this was their last response in this case. They referred to the financial ombudsmen but im not sure what to do next.

What do I do next? Shall I carry on or just accept the £114?

Any help would be greatfully accepted.

    thanks
