I recieved my letter from Capital one today saying that they have arranged for the balance to be paid of the account and a cheque for 901.83 to be sent out in the next 14 days.
:T :T :T :T :T :T :T
I would just like to take the time to say thank you to each and everyone who has contributed to my confidence in reclaiming and for the advice they provide to everyone else. It must be frustrating answering the same sorts of questions over and over!!! but there never seems to be any complaints.
Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooo much for helping me. Now i am going to go chase my G.E. money cards now.
I am hoping to be debt free from credit cards and store cards by the end of next year and the banks are going to feel my wrath too!
Lloyds tsb have just charged me 30.00 for going over my overdraft by £1.14!!

Well done. Nice to see some more money being returned to its rightfull owner.
No more potatoes and beans for you
Your target for being debt free from credit and store cards is the same as mine, so good luck.
Were it not for Martin, the CAG and others on this site, the end of 2020 was more realistic.
Hope to see you posting your debt free success on here in due course.

Has anyone who has won with cap 1 been in this situation?
I have claimed the charges from 3 cards. Two of them are closed and are with a 3rd party collection agency. The other is still open with cap 1.
<O:p
I have entered judgement by default with my local court and have therefore won the money back from them.
<O:p
In the meantime Cap 1 have sent me a letter stating that the charges have been refunded to each of my 3 cards, clearing all the balances and they will send me a cheque for the remainder.
<O:p
I cannot get through to them on the phone number on the letter, it says the dept is closed, so I rang another phone number for Cap 1and spoke to someone in another dept who told me that 2 of the accounts are no longer with cap 1 and therefore they cannot do anything with them as they are now held by a 3rd party agency. They also told me that the dept who sent me the letter cannot be contacted by phone, only by post and they gave me the address.
<O:p
Do I write to them and ask them to prove that these accounts have been paid off? Certainly the information in the letter they sent contradicts what this other person told me on the phone about 2 of the accounts.
<O:p
If they haven’t cleared the 2 accounts not held by them anymore do I wait until my cheque arrives and see if in fact it’s a cheque that covers the charges for these 2 accounts, plus the amount left over from the 3rd account?
<O:p
Also the total they will pay back is my full claim minus court costs.
<O:p
Obviously now I am in a situation where I can request that the judgement is enforced, so I’m not really sure of what to do at the moment, wait to see what my cheque is? Write to them? Or enforce the judgement? If anyone else has been in this situation then please let me know what happened to you?0 -

Hi all,
Please help, im not sure what is going to happen next and I am a little bit worried that its getting out of hand...
The story so far:
1: I wrote to cap1 and asked for about £800 back
2: They wrote back and said you can have £200
3: I raised a Money Clain on the moneyclaim website
4: 13 days pass and then they Acknowagle the claim (b**ards)
5: They have now entered a defense
What will happen next? Do I need to get a solicitor? the Money Claim website says :
You are unable to take any further action online on this claim.
The Defendant disputes the whole amount you have claimed. Your claim cannot proceed online and will be transferred to the appropriate court for continuation. You will receive confirmation to where the claim has been transferred to shortly.

All that happened to me, do not panic, you will get a letter in about a week saying their defence is that they will pay it all back. Trust me.0

Yep, section 6 reads:-
6. Recieved full amount of money from Capital One.
Their defence is that they have paid you, thats all.0 -
I bow to your superior knowledge. Indeed, as you predicted, I received a letter from capital One this morning saying that they are paying in full!
Result  £900 in time for Christmas. Do I have to cancel my MoneyClaim.gov.uk request some how?<O:p</O:p
Next : Virgin PPI - 20 quid a month for 3 years.... hmm :rotfl: better than a savings account0
