I got my statesments back - no problems - 1st letter sent for return of money - they responded saying that I signed a contract and ifi'm not happy i should complete a complaints form and if I didn't they would presume that i was happy and forget it.

Hi Everyone
I claimed £579.50 from the Clydesdale Bank (without interest) I received the standard reply re terms & conditions, etc - they also offered me £67.50. If I didn't respond within 8 weeks they would consider the case closed. On checking my account online I discovered that they had credited my account with the said £67.50 - even though I hadn't said that I would accept it. Will be contacting the branch to tell them I don't want it - once I get through to the branch that is!
I made the decision yesterday to send the 2nd letter threatening to take them to the sheriff court, and using Martin's interest calculator my claim was now £699.01. Posted it yesterday recorded delivery - will keep you posted! I am determined to go all the way with this if I have to - fed up of beiing messed about!!!
Cheers

I got my first letter from Clydesdale re the statements, they are telling me to deal with Leeds now and will send on the statements within the 40 day time limit. I will send my claim letters to Leeds now and will keep in touch and let you know how I get on too. Clydesdale seem to be difficult and dig their heels in with most cases thou!!

I have been paying £7.50 a month to the Clydesdale Bank to keep my £1500 a month overdraft.
When I was at one of their branches recently, I was told that this was an old account and did I want an appointment to upgrade my account.
I went along to my local branch and saw an aptly named 'Mr Profeit' who said that it had changed to this new account 2 years earlier and noone paid the £7.50 a month anymore!!!
I asked why I hadn't been told about this and he said that noone had noticed!
Although they did in April 2006, phone me up and tell me that I was about to go over my overdraft (which was £1000) so they took it upon themselves to put my overdraft up to £1500 and charged me a arrangement fee. (The phone call was after they had done this).
I asked if they were going to give me back my money and he said he couldn't (or wouldn't).
So my question is, can I try to get these payment back?0 -
Difficult one as you can't in fact reclaim a monthly, annual service fee such as this is. However I certainly would be complaining to HO regarding this monthly fee. Have you had any bank charges you can claim over the years?0

Thanks for your help,
I'm sure there are some charges there to be claimed back, I have the template letter to send out asking for a list of charges.
It's just so annoying!!0 -
If it was me, I'd send for the statements and separately send a complaint letter to HO regarding the fact that you were told "no-one paid this fee anymore" and "no-one noticed you were in fact paying it".0

I will prepare a letter this weekend and send it off on Monday.
Might as well strike while the iron is hot!
Thanks again0
