First time using this, looking for some advice and tips please!! Have recently recieved my bank statements, which took over 3months! am now getting ready to take next step. Can anyone tell me if you can claim back the SC (standard charge) that is applied to your account(monthly) over and above the irregular charge for being overdrawn:question:. Also anyone had any success with this bank?? Thank you
I'm just going over a friend's Clydesdale statements and have found this SC charge which I thought could mean Service Charge, however as it only occurs when there are returned dds in the particular month I am including them in his claim along with the irregular fee.
to smitchy, my friend went into his branch and asked for the statements on a Friday and was told to pick them up on the Monday, as far as I know with no charge and the cashier suggested he did indeed put in a claim.0 -
hello everyone, sorry if this sounds stupid but i would greatly appreciate some help. i have recently got my past 5 years statements from my bank, i was being charged £25 per month as well as interest for being overdrawn but within my limit. these were service charges, since i requested my statements these charges have stopped, can i claim these "service charges" back?0

I've just gone through a friend's statements from Clydesdale and I reckon that you can claim them as this was charged in months when there were other charges but not charged in months when there was none. Put it this way if the Clydesdale reckon you can't, they'll soon tell you.0

this thread has dropped to the quiet side, has anyone updates on how it is going for them?
I am just about to start the process, will have to trawl through 18 pages to find the information and such like.0 -
I have just been charged £25 for going over my authorized £100 overdraft and called into the bank today as I had an email from my online account that it was up to the Manager's discretion whether to waive the fee.
At first she said that she was tied by the bank's rules and that she only worked for the bank she didn't make the rules. After I showed her a copy of the email she changed her attitude and offered to refund the £25 but said that she would still charge a £25 admin charge.
I told her that was like giving it with the one hand and taking it back with the other.
She said that wasn't the case as she was saving me £25.
My answer to her was that if that was her stance after 35 years as a customer who has never ever been over drawn then I would be changing my bank.
I left and immediately called into the only other bank in my village which is Bank of Scotland. The manager there after hearing my story set up my account and credited it with £50 as a goodwill gesture after my treatment from the Clydesdale Bank.0 -

Doubt it. Sounds like a service fee not unauthorised usage fee.0
