  • Hi im looking for help regarding my bank charges
Just recived my statements today from the Clydesdale bank
it's only taken them 7 months to send them.
My account with them is now closed if they refund my
charges am i able to ask them for a cheque ?
has anyone else had to do this ,any help would
    be greatly appreciated .
  • Has anyone received a payout from Clydesdale?
As I have been told by Clydesdale to wait for the outcome of the test case, But an article in the newspaper has stated that it doesn't apply to banks in Scotland! Is this right? If so what should I do next?
  • I'm reclaiming charges from Clydesdale Bank. I've received a reply to my first letter telling me my bank have 'placed my details on a list and will be in touch as soon as possible' because they are 'awaiting information from the Financial Services Authority'. By this I assume the waiver to which the bank have agreed is still valid and my claim will be reviewed after the test case in January? Should I move onto the next step?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi CR7,
definitely carry on with your claim, this seems like another fob off letter from the bank.

  • I went overdrawn last month for a couple of quid. I was charged at the time £25. I went and checked my bank statement and found I have been charged again, £25 today:mad: . I phoned them and they said it was because the first payment was for moving the money and the second is the actual charge. I was quite willing to pay the first payment as I should have kept an eye on my account. But the second payment is surely taking the P***. I am going to go into the branch on my next day off and see if I can get them to waiver this second charge. I have not been overdrawn with this account for atleast 15 years. And at the time it was Skys fault.
  • First time using this, looking for some advice and tips please!! Have recently recieved my bank statements, which took over 3months! am now getting ready to take next step. Can anyone tell me if you can claim back the SC (standard charge) that is applied to your account(monthly) over and above the irregular charge for being overdrawn:question:. Also anyone had any success with this bank?? Thank you
  • Just came back from visiting my local branch and I actually got them to refund the second £25.:T So quite happy about that. I will in future keep a good eye on my account.

    Hi,
Just to see if anyone has had any success or if they have a case on hold with the Clydesdale Bank.

Have written for copies of charges from them, and I am going to file whenever I receive this list, so that my complaint will be filed with them at least.

Also has everyone set up a parachute account, just in case the bank closes the account?
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Didn't realise this thread was here, thanks to edinburgh lass for putting it on to this thread, very interesting and wife really p'd off with me sitting all afternoon reading all of this, and me just back from my works xmas doo!! (Sober one for me)
I've put in my letter askign for 'list of charges' not statements, as per Martin's template, haven't put in cheque for £10 saying if they want the £10 they can charge my account, as they are good at that already!!
Now after reading all of this it has given me plenty of thoughts for my future letters and know the pitfalls to watch out for, i've given them the 40 days and if I don't receive the statements I'll write to the IC straight away I'm not telling them I'm doing it they'll know I am when they hear back from them.

I'm keeping notes of dates in my electronic calander so I can keep checks on where we're at and hopefully get somewhere, my statements are due to be with me around the same time as the High Court case so that will be fun!
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Have had a letter back from Clydesdale to say that they will look into the PPI claims, however, something interesting on the letter stating that they would not cover any costs by using third parties to claim for me, ie the no win no fee companies!!
I don't plan to use them as the wonderful people on here seem to be able to advise all we need.
Also for my bank charges, I wrote and asked for a list of charges and understood there may be a charge up to a maximum of £10 for this, I didn't put a cheque in, I just told them to advise me if they required this, hehe, they sent the statement back to 2002, and guess what no charge(yet!).
Thanks to all the competition posters.
