  • Just to say I am in sae position. Clydesdale has simply dug heels in and wasted time and now they are sitting pretty for a year. If we acted that way with them and just did things when we felt like it then they would have us for a small fortune yet we can do nothing but wait. I would like to know if I should continue to court and if I should add section in letter explaining that if they had responded in the given time I should have been dealt with long before the FOS statement.
I just want my account closed but with an overdraft they have me where they want me.

I'm about to start the courts process against Clydesdale but I'm unsure because they are based in Glasgow and I live in England, can some one please point me in the right direction.

    Thanx

I think you can do this in your local court, im sure someone will confirm.

Is it worth starting at the moment though, are all court proceedings not pending awaiting the outcome of the test case?
  • Hi There Just received my bank statements 6 years worth. Have done the calculations and I have nearly £2,000 in illegal bank charges to claim back.Because of this hold up with the test case does that mean that I cannot put my claim into the Clydesdale Bank. It's so frustrating, typical of the banks though they take your money but they are never very keen to help you out any.
  • I also am having trouble with the Clydesdale Bank! Started claiming in July, sent letter asking for all my statements & included the £10 cheque - this was cashed & no response whatsoever from bank!! Just about to send another letter telling them they had another 7 days otherwise I would be informing the information commisioner, (don't even know who/what this is) but just spotted on this site that the banks would not be dealing with bank charges reclaiming as it is in the process of a case test or something? Not sure what to do now! I was advised to reclaim by accountant as it amounts to thousands! I would be greatful for any advice!
  • Thanks JMM
I have decided to go ahead and put my letter into the Glydesdale Bank asking for my charges back, Whether they do or not is another matter all together, Thay wasted so much time before I received my Statements, It would be a different story if they had to wait for their charges though. I am claiming for 6 years of charges on 2 accounts.

  • Story so far- tried to reclaim my bank charges back in May. Never got my bank statements although paid for. Reported them and complained to FOS waited the 8 weeks FOS rule and low and behold they had sent me a letter 5 days into the 8 week wait period saying the usual guff about being fair. Whent back to FOS who then wrote back to them again ( I was annoyed as if this letter had appeared i.e final comment FOS would have been invoved then). Anyway FOS got back to them then everything stopped due to the test case pending.Today they write stating that they are not sure I am a customer !!!! I know it is a closed a/c of 2 years ago but who are they trying to kid. They already have the a/c no sort code and branch I was with. They would like me to send in copies of my bank statements to see if they can trace me that way????? There is not even a address to send this to or phone number but luckily I have thses already. Anyone heard of this before particularly as all action has been stopped untill the test case. Many thanks

  • Can anyone tell me if you can claim service charges incurred when an irregular fee is charged against your account. No charge normally. Has taken 7 months for Clydesdale Bank to send me list! Got it today.:T
