Hi...
My mum contacted Benjamin Roberts directly today and they were really helpful.
We paid 50% deposit to Chester Bridal store in February amd luckily it was paid to the designer
We are going to pay the remaining balance direct to Benjamin Roberts and they will deliver the dress to my mums house in January, we are lucky to have a good local Bridal store nearby where I can have any alterations done (don't know why I didnt get my dress from here in the first place)!
I still think I will be on pins until we recieve the dress, after what has happened, but so thankful to Benjamin roberts for helping us.
Hope everyone else manages to get they're dresses sorted asap! xxx2010 Wins: Cushelle Koala / x2 tickets Ndubz London / x2 tickets to Goodwood Races / years supply of pg tips / Rimmell Fake tan / Maxfactor prize (not recieved yet)0 -
I spoke to Sophia Tolli at 9.30am this morning and they said they would deal with me direct. I am now worried if my order is going to go through another store and I have to pay again - what price are these other stores going to charge us, will it be the same price that we were paying to the bridal gallery? Also I had 15% off the price of my dress due to a promotion the shop were doing at the time. I am a bit worried about dealing with another store.0

Hi I have just got through to Essense of Australia. At first look they cant see my order but are going to look into things and come back to me. If my order was not placed I will be so annoyed!0

....Well i'm already very annoyed. I mean I will be fuming!! xx0

Well done, I am glad you got sorted with Benjamin Roberts. I think this just shows that most Designers will supply the gown for the remaining balance and not make the bride pay in full again.
Well don Benjamin Roberts and Venus.0 -

Get back on to Sophia Tolli and ask them to send your gown direct and then take it to a seamstress to have it altered. That way you will not be charged full price again. Give Sophia Tolli you payment and your address to send the gown to.0 -

Ah no, I got in touch earlier and they do have my order. When did you place it? I ordered in July and dress is due in 4 weeks which they confirmed today. They were unaware of the situation when I called originally, so are looking into the situation currently as to whether they can send direct - that's all I know right now unfortunately! Just wished I had some final answers. Has anyone received their letter yet? X0 -
I ordered mine 9 days ago
no letter received yet x

Some people are offering to help through nothing more and nothing less than kindness. Surely this situation give the bridal industry a bad name and everyone wants to see as little upset as possible.
Nobody is asking anybody to work without wages the only thing that everybody here would like to see is compassion.
Think of it like this, what would you like somebody to do for you if you were left in this devastating situation?
Lots of brides have small children, will they be able to afford the extra money before Christmas and not be able to get it back until well into the new year? I know I certainly cannot.
Lots of bridal shop owners have small children too - can they afford for TBGG brides to come in, use their premises, be served by the staff that they are paying and all their overheads as well as using up valuable appointments whilst making no money, when in fact they could be selling to their own brides and making an honest living?? The only designers who will accept the remaining balances on dresses are the ones who have received initial deposits from TBGG so let's not have a go at the shops who are trying to help out. Ultimately lots of brides will get their initial deposits back so if they only paid the balance they would get their dress half price!!0 -
i've had no letter as yet but I didn't have insurance although I do now in case anything else goes wrong! the company is still showing as active on companies house website.0
