It could take months to get any deposit back from your Insurance Company or Bank.
Here it is again:
The Designer need to be paid the wholesale price
The Bridal Gallery Group will not have paid this
The Store who has your gown need to pay the Designer the wholesale price
Anything charged over and above the wholesale price + vat is profit for the store
Brides can take their anywhere to be altered as they would have had to pay The Bridal Gallery Group for alterations
If the gown has not been ordered the Designer will still not ask for anymore than the wholesale price
Therefore the stores who are willing to simply take delivery of the gown for you and pay the Designer their wholesale price are not making any money out of the desperate situation that these Brides find themselves in. These stores are simply trying to help.
Does that all make sense?
Are you a Bride, Sexy Babe and if so which branch of TBGG did you order your gown from and did you pay a deposit to TBGG?
That does make sense, yes, thank you! Have heard so much info over the last few days, my minds gone into meltdown!! Lol!!
Yes, I am a bride, I started this thread to try and find out what to do as I ordered my Sophia Tolli gown from the Tarleton store in July and paid them £582.50 deposit.
I do feel a bit cheated that I'm being ask to pay more or less the same again as a deposit plus then a balance, when I've already paid out so much but I thought this was standard and what everyone else would have to do. I've contacted Sophia Tolli (who'll now be sick of me after so many emails and questions!) to see what they say!
Very confused at the mo!0 -

Let us know what Sophia Tolli say please as it is difficult for all of us. Thank you so much for starting this thread. I am sure that all designers may not be the same but they should surely all be fair and only ask for what is necessary in these circumstances. Good luck x0

By the time you claim your initial deposit back from bank or insurance, you will have paid just the same as you were expecting to pay.
Why should the shop loose out on profit, would you work without wages?0 -

Are there any other Pronovias brides out there that have any news from the rep?0

As I do and as Nadiene is offering to do.
If you paid a deposit at DFS for a sofa and they went bust would you expect any other sofa company to deliver it to you for half price, while you then eventually get your deposit back from your bank?
We don't need to offer any help at all, but we are devastated by this situation and do not want to see brides go without their dream dress. We are all busy with our own brides but are offering to do extra work to ensure that you all get your dresses, is that wrong of us?0 -
There is no right and wrong here, apart from where the situation started in the first place. Everyone is busy, as were all of the devastated brides prior to this.
Some people are offering to help through nothing more and nothing less than kindness. Surely this situation give the bridal industry a bad name and everyone wants to see as little upset as possible.
Nobody is asking anybody to work without wages the only thing that everybody here would like to see is compassion.
Think of it like this, what would you like somebody to do for you if you were left in this devastating situation?
Lots of brides have small children, will they be able to afford the extra money before Christmas and not be able to get it back until well into the new year? I know I certainly cannot.0 -
I have ordered my bridesmaid dresses from the preston shop in august 2012 and paid in full for them.
I contacted another local bridal shop today to get a contact number for Venus uk the supplier directly. The lady there I spoke to got her manager to call me back, and they couldn't hvae been more helpful. Confirming they had my order and they knew exactly what I had ordered and advised when the dresses would be ready.
They have then located another bridal shop for me that they deal with and arranging for my dresses to be delivered there instead of bridal gallery Preston. She did say I was one of the lucky ones as some girls have found that the dresses hadn't even been ordered and she said that the group had been a bit 'naughty' and they had been having issues for some time with them.
If anyone has ordered dresses through the Venus uk supplier I urge you to call them as they were so helpful and reassuring for me. They also provided me with the liquidators details that were appointed today to help with my wedding insurance claim. They are Begbies Traynor Group Ltd, 1 Old Hall Street, Liverpool, L2 9HF.
Venus are contactable on 0113 256 9627
I work in a bank so even if you have not got insurance, you can still claim but you will need liquidators information. If you paid by credit card this will be pretty simple if on visa debit you will also be able to log a disputed transaction due to non receipt of goods. When I asked Venus how it works she said that they work on a rolling credit facility with most bridal shops so although they take money of us at point of order the shop are only due to pay on the day the dress is delivered ie at point of invoice. Therefore although I paid in full my money has not even been passed to Venus yet. This does vary with different suppliers from what she told me.0
