So all you have to do is set up the Freeview box with your TV set. If the tuner in the TV is faulty then it will still work with the Argos box tuner instead. If it doesn't work, then either the box is faulty or you have an aerial/cabling issue.
It's a simple process of elimination. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
OK, I'm assuming then that your TV has a built-in Freeview tuner but I'm clutching at straws until you post the make/model no. of your TV.

Gunjack - before I re-test, I see no banner advert, but the test is entitled 'tune-up. I will re-enter from the 1st step and see what happens.
Another loathing if chrome is the way it places downloads in written form at the foot of my page in a white margin, like chapter tabs. Why doesn't a download simply come straight up onscreen, as it used to!
Remember I was doing e'th as instructed by Andrea, but there seems no way of opening them, whether I then click on the logo or on the blue writing. Sometimes I make things work by pasting said blue writing into the search bar. That's what worked today.
It's all so arduous.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Can you start another new thread for your TV problem please and in the first post please indicate the make/model no. of your TV and make/model no. of your Argos Freeview box.
Hello again TOG -
I've no idea where it is. Picked it up as a Freebie to be useful, maybe, for someone else. Didn't think my [then]new tv needed one - not according to research and Mr T CS[a trustworthy and knowledgeable chap I've known there for years]
TV is a Technika[Mr T cheapie, but for my purposes/usage/budget, it was fine]
- LCD 15ID 107 15" digital appears on the back.
I'll have to stop now - back this evening.
Please - to all of you again - may I reiterate my great thanks for your patient kindness in this.
It feels inadequate.
Equally, I must catch up with this morning's appointments.

Haven't read all of this, just happened to catch the 381 mile bit and amused myself reading on from there. :rotfl:

TOG - I will do this evening. Just have to go now.
Please appreciate that there is a delay as I type, a delay as things post - both unduly long and I have just learnt to cope with/adapt to this.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
