Excel, Roxborough & MET - SUSPENDED

I really couldn't have put it any better than that, bp. What I am particularly happy about is that over the last few months a significant number of people have joined the ranks of the regulars here, on Pepipoo and CAG (or should we be more specific and call it NMAG?), and have got really stuck into the issue. The number of people now beavering away in the background is quite impressive. This is indeed a brilliant result, well done to all who furnished the DVLA with the info to make these suspensions......
They should have kept their heads down, and relied on the majority being too ignorant to do anything other than pay up.
The DVLA are indeed showing some welcome backbone and their recognition of the issue, I know, is due in no small part to the consistent, reasoned and reasonable lobbying that has been going on for a considerable time - again, in the background.
The BPA has become very quiet of late and such pronouncements as have been issued have a sense of a siege mentality emerging. This is not, however, the time to ease off the pressure. As much as the anti-PPC lobby has scored some notable achievements in the recent past we should not underestimate the capacity of the BPA and its allies (it does have some) to build new bridges and repair those that have been damaged. Mr Troy is a well practised lobbyist and should not be underestimated in that regard.
The one significant error the BPA appears to have made is to have entirely misjudged the impact of POFA. Or did they? I would allow for the possibility that the BPA's real objective was to hobble the smaller PPC's to such a degree that they fell out of the market leaving the ground free for the multi-nationals. We should not therefore be ignoring the larger companies simply because the smaller ones continually come to the fore.
An excellent result though. Well done, Paul.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
If a few more get banned the DVLA should seriously look at banning the BPA as a supposed Accredited Trade Association!
I already have a complaint in to the DVLA about the misleading AOS Code of Practice, which I've followed up with a complaint to the ICO. If I get a negative response, I'll follow up with another pointing out that the BPA is as much use as a chocolate teapot as evidenced by the fact that the DVLA has to police the AOS because the BPA doesn't, ergo neither the BPA not its AOS are fit for purpose.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Apparently someone () is going to write to McDonalds later today to ask them if they know about this, and what they think this says about the kind of people they are prepared to to business with. As I understand it MET mostly/exclusively uses ANPR in McD car parks, so without DVLA access their wondrous service consists of nothing but a few signs!
Apparently the letter will include references to the MET threatogram chain, some quotations (from here) by people who've been stung in McD car parks despite being a genuine customer, and a helpful hint that all this may not be good for McDonald's brand.Je suis Charlie.0 -
So what I said yesterday proves to be the truth. Anymore news on other companies, I will announce!!! We should all lobby for Parking Eye to be next!!!0

Just to make a PPC 'client' aware of the cost to them of having these scammers operate in their car parks the following has been submitted on the McDonalds Contact Us webpage.
=====================================
I note that a company that you allow to 'manage' your car parks have been banned from accessing the DVLA registered keepers data base for gross misconduct.(MET Parking).
I will not be using your company's outlets while you associate with MET Parking.
Furthermore I have told my staff not to use your outlets and expense claims for using McDonalds outlets will not be paid as you are on my company's blacklist.
I look forward to being able to reassess the situation when you have removed MET Parking and their ilk from your car parks.
Regards

I may have to send similar emails to clients of the other recently banned scammers.0 -

Poor Patrick Troy is still under the illusion that being a member of the BPA makes the PPCs whiter than white:-
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/9987114.Parking_bosses_call_for_ticketers____code/
Patrick Troy said: “The ban on clamping and towing away without lawful authority means it is still possible for so-called ‘rogue ticketers’ to operate throughout the UK, causing distress to motorists.
“We would like to see better regulation of the private parking sector than the coalition Government has offered.”
He also said that all parking firms should be forced to join the BPA. “Currently membership of the BPA, the industry’s professional body, is an ‘opt in’ system and this needs to change so that all motorists are treated fairly and there are legal repercussions for operators who decide not to sign up.”What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
