There are loads of other complaints in at the DVLA about lots of PPCs - I have reported several with specific quotes from letters/websites but not managed to get anyone banned (yet).

This is a major result - paul cook you are a star!!!!!!!!!!!:T

So Nick Smith MP has had a nice email from me about Excel, if you remember he was the MP up in Ebbw Vale complaining about the activities of Excel in The Walk. I have also emailed BBC xRay asking them for a comment lol
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

If a few more get banned the DVLA should seriously look at banning the BPA as a supposed Accredited Trade Association!

Wonder if we can ask the bpa for a statement on yet more of their members getting banned from the dvla data link ? :)

And, of course, at least two of the banned companies have owners (SRS and Perky) on the BPA board.

This is indeed a brilliant result, well done to all who furnished the DVLA with the info to make these suspensions.

We've now had five significant organisations banned from RK data by the DVLA, with another very large one teetering on the brink pending the outcome of a court ruling (not on the public forums yet, will update when allowed).

If we look again at that DfT guidance document, where it says that parking charges must be pre-estimates of losses and not penalty charges, it seems pretty clear that some of the civil servants have got their heads round the true nature of the PPC business model, and are taking action accordingly - that is a killer document for the private parking industry.

We also have, instead of the usual bland platitudes and hand-wringing, some real action at last from the DVLA. The fact that their Data Sharing manager is still at his desk after 9pm would indicate a degree of commitment not previously seen.

I can only surmise that the BPA's outrageous exaggeration of court case numbers is now having repercussions in government circles, and revenge is being exacted.

The BPA made a huge mistake in trying to get the RK liability legislation through. The whole process of issuing private parking tickets is a scam, and making it possible to scam the RK instead of the driver doesn't alter the fact that it's still a scam. They should have kept their heads down, and relied on the majority being too ignorant to do anything other than pay up.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

I wonder why on my debt recovery plus letter they like symbols. One says member of the bpa and one symbol across it says approved member of the bpa? Does that mean you can be a disapproved member as well? Just curious.
