Hugs for lilmissworry ! Wear your dress if you want to! My SIL got married in a full dress and my brother wore shorts and an open neck shirt -photos are fab! Great one of them standing barefoot in the sea and she's holding her dress out the water - both of them laughing their heads off...

October is getting ever closer! We had to reschedule our Florida wedding from February so everything is more or less done. Ebay dress has been altered - gorgeous. A wee bit concerned it's a bit overly low cut and the only bra that I could find to wear that didn't show gives me a bit of a "trying too hard" cleavage!

Ordered a customised cake topper as a bit of fun - the OH is a massive Dolphins fan and they are playing the Baltimore Ravens the day before the wedding. He did think of going but his best man has said no way... They are going to change the groom to be wearing a kilt and a Dan Merino top - his hero.

Trying to think of an upbeat song as the exit song - any ideas? Currently thinking Barry White's My First, My Last, My Everything or the Proclaimers "On my way".

Great to hear how everyone's plans are going

We've been thinking of songs....we think The Wannadies 'the you and me song' would be quite apt,and we love Elbow 'One day Like This',we also saw them live at the Leeds Festival so it's quite special. And upbeat, and maybe a bit different so there are a couple of suggestions Cazziebo. Is there a song with a bit of meaning to you both?

Thankyou everyone for your kind words. It's not a good time atall really but am trying to focus on the wedding, though not easy as i miss my friend no end :(

We got the no impedemant papers sorted on Saturday, just got to wait 3 weeks and then can go ahead and get everything translated. Everything else sorted,my dress, flip flops, daughters dresses and flip flops and fiances shirt,he just needs shorts and flip flops and we're done. Hoping i'll have some money for a car to take us to venue and to have mine and my girls hair done nicely but we'll see.

Getting close now! My dress is boxed up although I'm thinking should do one last try on before we go just in case! I had summer flu there and lost a good bit of weight so hoping I'm back up to normal soon. (I don't look good being too thin - just look scraggy and bony!)

I posted another thread about how to keep it together during the ceremony as I'm scared I bubble all the way through and my face swells up like a beetroot. Anyway, the beloved OH said he'd picked the first dance music which was a song I hadn't heard of "At Last" by Etta James. He's 43 and never been married and every time I hear it now I well up

Talked him into going along to a ballroom dancing lesson tonight. :rotfl::rotfl:

Hope all planning & prep going well for you ladies!

Sounds like you are well prepared cazziebo.

My dress should be arriving in the next couple of weeks....just hope it's ok. Otherwise I don't have long to sort it out!

OH is sorted suit wise. His shirt arrived yesterday and looks good with his suit and tie.

We're still waiting for some replies :s but have a bit of time yet. Also slightly concerned as the person who was working as the events co ordinator at the hotel we are getting married in has now left. We only found out as we emailed about something....not sure when they were planning on telling us!

Oh my goodness, 6 weeks today!!

I think I'm just about organised. Got lovely jewellery today at last, been looking for weeks.

Just got to get the little flower girls their dresses and we are doing that next Saturday.

Only very small details to sort now and the last RSVPs to come in. Is getting close. Can't wait to get my dress on, just hoping for a dry day.

I hope everyone is getting on ok with plans! Can't wait to see everyone's photos

    Weesmiler xx:)

Wowsers! Weesmiler sounds like its all good though.
Can't believe how quickly it is coming around. I've still got 9 weeks thank goodness.I am still trying to find some jewellery I just cannot find what I want.

We are still waiting for quite a lot of evening replies, fingers crossed they are coming.
Had a go at making cake pops again with a different recipe -as I really fancied them for the sweet treat - Complete disaster, back to old recipe me thinks.

We are making the centre pieces and have had a day working on them. The fumes from the glue is making me see double though so I though I'd escape for a bit. They are looking pretty good, just hope everyone doesn't think we are deluded. haha

Went for a fitting the other day (they told me I had to and said to come back in 2 weeks for another fitting and if my sizes change they will charge me again). Not a happy bunny as Mum phoned and was told I should not have been told that, fitted then or even charged without being given time to think!! grrrr. Am actually going back Tuesday to collect dress and get a refund - wish me luck.

Also had a go at the table plan - heeehee - nuff said! The logistics of jiggling who can go together and can't was hysterical. A glass of wine and another go tonight I think.

Hope everyone is happy, ok and plans are all coming together xx

Had our second ballroom dancing class tonight - what a laugh. Do it! We are not gifted by any stretch of the imagination but are now doing a passable tango, and a wee bit of quickstep. Such lovely people, and we both think we'll carry on with it after the wedding.

We hang about a bit after our beginners class to watch the advance people and that's what we want to be like. Great fun!

Wish we'd looked for this sooner.

    54 days to go!!! EEK!!!!!

Wedding planning meeting this saturday, meeting our photographers on sunday for a belated engagement shoot! Had my final dress fitting today.

Need to buy our rings still and decide on music, and a few other little bits to do.
Currently wearing in my wedding shoes!
  • Eek indeed! Only 38 days to go for us, but we're at the end of October, so only two weeks for some of you guys!

Hope everyone is doing well and not feeling too frazzled - I seem to lurch between moments of calm and moments of panic! I think we may have been too laid back about preparations at times as we keep finding things that we hadn't realised we needed to do :undecided

But the OH is off on his stag party this weekend (watch out Edinburgh!), so I'm sure I'll be able to tick some stuff off the list.

Good luck everyone for the final push :D. How exciting!
